Network info: Qualcomm Atheros QCA9565 / AR9565 Wireless vendor: Dell driver: ath9k IF: wlpls0 If you need any more info let me know. Basically the card seems to be working fine until the computer goes to sleep, then disconnects and doesn't show any networks until computer is rebooted, then does the...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
gonna try uninstalling alsa and disabling simultaneous outputs from pulseprefs and reboot and try again.
Edit still no fix if anyone has any ideas. This does create the option to select both but the looped version doesn't work on any output.

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
Thanks that is helpful, I'm now seeing another "built-in audio" selector but none of the outputs from it are working, progress atleast i'm going to mess around and see if I can figure out why but any chance you had that issue? Do you know what exactly that does, it seems to have cloned the "built-in...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
Lets see if I can explain this better. in the config menu of pulseaudio under my realtek device. There are options for like 15 different outputs. whichever one i pick is the one that shows up in audio playback menus, but I can't get both to show up at the same time. The two I want are the toslink ou...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
@SugarBoby no I don't think that's what I want unless I read it wrong. I spent hours googling for this and can't find a solution and I did try ALSA but I couldn't figure out how to make both show up, it seemed to have overrides and stuff for converting jacks, like the realtek audio app does it windo...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
from OP: If i go to the sound app and click on my headphones, which are under "analog stereo output" or go to the config tab in pulseaudio and under "built-in audio" select "analog stereo output" the option to use my headphones shows up in the playback menu for each app i'm running, but the "digital...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
I don't want to use it for outputs, it's for inputs for another purpose, i'm trying to use the motherboard's sound card for both outputs. Optical out and headphone jack coming from the motherboard. The applications like VLC etc only show the audio outputs that are selected in the config menu for eac...

Re: Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
Its realtek audio onboard sound. Windows shows all available outputs in a list it doesn't show a sound device and make you choose one of the outputs to use at a time. Realtek® ALC892 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC featuring Crystal Sound 3 is the device that both are using. The stereo is runn...

Trying to use 2 different sound outputs from "built-in audio"
So my problem is i'm trying to route sound from one application to my headphones, and sound from another application to my stereo. Using pulseaudio volume control, under playback, with applications selected at the bottom you can do this, but only if you are using two different devices such as my ste...
