Re: Favourite Password Manager
BitWarden. They offer for-fee as well as free services, the client is open source, and all platforms are supported. Also, the UI is clean and straight-forward. I switched to Bitwarden (from KeePass) a couple of years ago after seeing it recommended here. Best decision I've ever made. So easy to use...

Re: Networking...remote desktop...etc
Some VNC software has file transfer as a feature, eg VNC Connect.
Another options is something like AnyDesk which I use to connect my LM machine to a Windows PC (also has a file transfer feature).

Re: Getting a Yubikey to work
After getting all that to work I also eventually found https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.com/p/bugs.html#ID11 which also suggests installing libu2f-udev and setting up a rule in /etc/udev/rules.d (although the rule @Pjotr suggests is different from what Yubico advise). Strange that this was sti...

Re: [SOLVED] Getting a Yubikey to work
Thanks for the clarification @ThaCrip.
I don't use Firejail as I prefer the Vivaldi browser, so that's not a problem for me, but still good to know there's a workaround.

Re: Getting a Yubikey to work
Hey I've got it to work! I found an article on the Yubico support pages: https://support.yubico.com/hc/en-us/articles/360013708900-Using-Your-U2F-YubiKey-with-Linux It suggests installing libu2f-udev which I didn't have installed. So I installed that and also followed their advice about creating a /...

Re: Getting a Yubikey to work
I use a Yubikey daily, and have been doing so for years. No need to install anything for it anymore. Not in Chrome and not in Firefox. Just works out of the box. Only thing you need to do, is to configure your Google accounts to ask for the Yubikey when logging in. Without the help of any auxiliary...

[SOLVED] Getting a Yubikey to work
I've just bought two Yubikeys (the Yubikey 5 NFC) and I run Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon. This is the first time I've used Yubikeys and I've run into a snag. At the moment I'm just trying to get the Yubikeys to work for 2FA when logging into websites, I'm not trying to get it to work to log into Linux M...

Re: VS Code, Shift + Alt + Up/Down Arrow not working for inserting cursor above/below
I've got VS Code 1.63.1 installed on my Linux Mint 19.3 Cinnamon machine and both Ctrl + Shift + Up/Down and Shift + Alt + Up/Down work fine for me. What does your VS Code keyboard bindings look like? Ctrl + K Ctrl + S should bring up the bindings and you'll see the "Add Cursor Above" and ...

Re: Bitwarden vs KeePass
I used to use KeePass several years ago. I had my password database stored on an FTP server and I was able to access this from a couple of Windows PCs and my Android phone (using Keepass2Android). It worked fairly well and enabled me to always have the latest version of the password database no matt...

For your reading list https://restoreprivacy.com/kape-technologies-owns-expressvpn-cyberghost-pia-zenmate-vpn-review-sites/ Ha! I always thought that those VPN "review" websites looked fishy. Same as those sites that tell you how to watch various things (eg live sports, etc) and push a pa...

I use AnyDesk. Worked first time for me when I initially set it up, no fiddling around with router settings or firewalls.

Re: Firefox 89.0 update last night and ugh!!!
My work PC, which runs Windows 10, updated to the latest version of Firefox and I decided to give it a try after reading here how awful people thought the new version was. I must say that I haven't encountered any of the problems and I quite like the new look. I won't be using it at home on my Mint ...
