Re: Mint background gift from a new forum member

I feel like butting in here as well, I've kinda grown more accustomed to the new logo. I did Not like it at first, but the more I've seen it the more Ive warmed up to it, now I even like it more then the old one. Also, Chuckles, great looking wallpapers! Keep it up! Could you try making one that is ...

Re: New Look for Linux Mint

I prefer Marwaita icons and think those, plus the Adapta theme should be Linux Mint's default themes, but then again, that's most likely because I personally love those themes, probably not everyone feels the same way about them. I personally really don't like dark themes either (most other people s...

This is the logo with a marble texture and a golden rim, looks cooler IMO.

Re: Cinnamon Themes

Uploaded a screenshot of my LM desktop on Reddit and got a lot of positive reactions so i thought i could upload it here as well in case someone feels a bit inspired. I wanted a desktop that still used desktop icons, like on Windows. I'm a gamer so it's a lot more comfortable for me to have desktop ...

Re: Mint Driver Manager

It is possible to install drivers manually (using Synaptic for example or the Terminal of you know the commands), but it's quite a hassle, especially if you're not used to it. Having a driver-manager is in my view a quite important basic thing that all distros looking to be beginner friendly must ha...

Mint Driver Manager

Been thinking for a while to give LMDE a try. I've been using regular Linux Mint (cinnamon) for about half a year now and love it, but I'm really warming up to the idea of using a Debian base rather then a Ubuntu base. One thing that did bug me a bit though when i tried out LMDE was the lack of a dr...

Re: Alfa AWUS036ACH (AC1200) not working

Please generate an overview of your system like this: - Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window) ; - make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines; - Copy/paste this command into the terminal: inxi -Fxz (if you type: the letter F is a capital letter) Press E...

Re: Alfa AWUS036ACH not working

Should mention that i did try to run one of the possible solutions found here; https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=53&t=294630&p=1638313&hilit=AWUS036ACH#p1638313 I ran the commands (lsusb) and indeed the wireless adapter was found, but when i tried running the commands to "Activate" them (...

Alfa AWUS036ACH (AC1200) not working [Solved]

Hello! So i've just migrated over to Linux and noticed that my former wifi adapter (Netgear a2610) did not work as great on Linux as it had on Windows, as such i set out to find an adapter that did work better and linux and the Alfa AWUS036ACH adapter was recommended to me. I've just got it, plugged...

Re: dpkg frontend lock [issue]

There were a few previous posts for this issue. Looks like it is cause by multiple process attempting to install/update at the same time. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=298455&p=1662849&hilit=dpkg+frontend+lock#p1662849 https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=90&t=296247&p=1...

Re: SSD+HDD Partitioning

See if you can get out of secure boot setup mode. That might be preventing installer from making changes to the HDD. Do not have much experience with AMD since the Athlon days, but BIOS should be the same just different hardware. I found the settings for secure-boot, i couldn't find a way to "Turn ...

Re: SSD+HDD Partitioning

You do not need biosgurb 100MB or /boot 400MB partitions, boot files and GRUB will be installed in efi partition. Please delete both. Looks like UEFI is not seeing the Mint installation. With UEFI enabled, you will need to disable secure boot and use SATA AHCI mode. Please boot into live session, c...

Re: SSD+HDD Partitioning

Gparted can find both the SSD and HDD and both of which is are empty (Unallocated) I went trough the Create Partition Table sequence after the last installation did not function properly.
ill try installing normally again and see if the commands yield different results.
