Re: Drivers Problems

As far as I can tell, the graphics driver you're using (i915) should be okay. I don't know why you're getting two outputs for drivers here though.

To help with your wifi, it would be useful if you posted the output of inxi -N.

Re: Installing LibreOffice problem

1) Restore default settings and repo mirrors via Software Sources. Disable also unworkable repos. ~$ inxi -Sr Just for clarification this command doesn't restore default settings or disable repos, it shows your repo information. I think the idea was that you post the output here in case there is so...

Installier dir mal purge-old-kernels. Damit kannst du alle Kernel außer den aktuell benutzen und den davor löschen.

Re: How to install f4 transkript?

Just extract the file you downloaded (f4transkript-7.0.6-linux.tar.gz). You can either do this by right clicking and choosing extract or you can do this in the terminal by changing in the directory where you saved the file and using the tar command: tar -xvzf f4transkript-7.0.6-linux.tar.gz Check ou...

Re: Installing LibreOffice problem

Here are some other solutions that come up when you search for that error code you got ( E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)), maybe it helps? Don't forget to run apt-get update before you try to reinstall.

Re: Dual Boot 2 Linux Distro's

Hey, for what it's worth I'm thinking about dual booting Mint and Arch and found this tutorial quite informative. I'm guessing Ubuntu's installation process isn't too different from LInux Mint and while Arch might look confusing if you've never done it before you have complete control over the every...

Re: Best Mint Edition for older laptops..?

Hey, I'm running Linux MInt XFCE on a 10-year-old Sony Vaio and it's lightning fast, I couldn't be happier. If you're willing to invest a hundred bucks in a SSD and additional RAM (if that's a possibility for your laptop model), that would really help with boot times and performance as well. I've al...

Re: Welcome Ladies - post here :)

hi guys, i'm new to mint but not to linux, used to use manjaro for the last couple of years. a few months ago i convinced a family member to try linux before buying a new machine and installed mint because it seemed like the least hassle for a skeptic. it really did wonders for that old pc and saved...

Did you add the repository key when you added the repository?

Code: Select all

wget -nc https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/Release.key && sudo apt-key add Release.key

Re: 19.1 workspaces - Where? How?

What's your desktop environment? If you're using XFCE you can add a workspace indicator to the panel under right click on panel -> settings -> objects/elements tab and then there is a +) :)

Re: install

Hey, .exe files only work under Windows. If you want to install software on Linux, you can do it using apt-get in the terminal or via Synaptic. If you want to install software that is not in the official repos, you can add a repository or download .deb files (for Linux Mint). If there is something y...

Re: WiFi doesnt show

It might be that you only installed the nordvpn repo.

Try:

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install nordvpn
Also are you sure it's not just a terminal application? If you still don't find it afterwards, try

Code: Select all

nordvpn --help

Re: Wireless connection...

Hey, the first two commands don't make sense if you don't actually have an internet connection. This is why you got error messages. The first line was supposed to download and execute the script, the second line was supposed to upload the output of the script and give you back a link that you could ...

Re: PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] Network down

I know it's been a while but I stumbled upon your post because I was experiencing the same problem with this wireless card. Found a solution in an older post . You have to deactivate N-mode: echo "options iwlwifi 11n_disable=1" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf sudo modprobe -rfv iwlwifi sudo ...
