Re: Windows VM Aero Interface Not Working in Vbox 5.2.28

Hello,

I think you should remove VirtualBox drivers in the Windows before performing VirtualBox upgrade. Then, install again the latest version of VirtualBox drivers.

Re: Can't install Wine

Hello,

Do you use some PHP packages from deb.sury.org ? PHP dependancies they provide are not compatible with wine.

Advanced key-value store very slow on shutdown

Good morning,

My laptop takes 15-20 minutes to shutdown. On the shutdown screen, I press Esc button to see what is blocking. Then, I see that the shutdown is very slow because Advanced key-value store is taking very long time to be stopped.

What is this service and how to optimize it?

Re: Overheating problem with 19.1

Good morning, The problem wasn't happening on Windows (I'm using dual-boot). Strangely, the problem waived out (45°C is quite fine, I think) when I installed OpenGL for Wine. Here is my output for commands you told me: manoaratefy@manoaratefy-hb ~ $ inxi -Fxzd System: Host: manoaratefy-hb Kernel: 4....

Overheating problem with 19.1

Good morning, I think I have overheating problem with Mint 19.1 after upgrade from 18.2 > 19 > 19.1. I have ~70°C on CPU & GPU (laptop, CPU & GPU sharing same ventirad) when running multiple tabs on Google Chrome. I checked GPU drivers but I think it is correctly installed. I also checked Chrome's e...

Concernant l'imprimante, ecarte...

Re: How to install Wine 32-bit on Linux Mint 19 64-bit ?

I had similar issues, but what EXE are you trying to run? Something I developed myself. I might found the issue preventing from wine32 to be installed. I was using deb.sury.org repo to get some custom PHP versions and it seems that the PHP package use libpcre3 which is also used by wine32. But the ...

Re: How to install Wine 32-bit on Linux Mint 19 64-bit ?

At this point I'd try Playonlinux. When you get it install and run it go to tools and manage wine version and install the wine version you want. When you use it to install the program you want it will give you the choice of either 32 or 64 bit. I tried PlayOnLinux (following this topic to run stand...

are you running 19 or 19.1? I believe there was a problem with wine in 19. So you may want to upgrade to 19.1 if that is the case.
Still have the same issue after upgrading.

Re: Mint 19.1 on an old PC

Is xfce significantly lighter than Mate? Yes, XFCE is significantly lighter. PS - since the 32GB SSD came with its external case with controller, that allows me to connect it as an external USB storage (it does), what if I write the ISO on it, detach it from the external case, install it into the P...

Re: How to install Wine 32-bit on Linux Mint 19 64-bit ?

In mint 19.x wine has change you have to install both wine-stable and wine32 IE sudo apt install wine-stable wine32 Then the 32 bit program should load and run fine. I also recommend playonlinux to many who are not that familiar with wine It's a nice front end and will allow you to select not just ...

So, I tried this after steps you described: manoaratefy@manoaratefy-hb /media/manoaratefy/01D265B03B445870/Program Files (x86)/Anuman interactive/Us long trucks road simulator $ WINEPREFIX=~/....

Hello everyone

Hello, I'm a Linux fan and I decided since 2014 to use Linux all the time. However, it is not easy, especially with simulations software and multimedia software. And when gaming. So, I use dual boot Windows 10 & Linux Mint 19 (until Wine works fine with). I'm the CEO of a web hosting company. I love...

Re: [SOLVED] Upgrade from 18.2 to 19 broke my apt

There doesn't seem to be any problem with your APT, judging from the output of sudo apt update . You seem to have 5 packages that can be upgraded. I would use Update Manager to perform the updates. Probably the mirrors you use weren't updated before when you got those error messages. Maybe it is th...

Re: Mint 19.1 on an old PC

Hello, Maybe 19.1 is too much for this machine? Linux Mint 19.1 is still lightweight and should fit correctly on your computer (I googled your computer to see its specs). Should I try 19 (maybe more stable) with the 32GB SSD? Your problem is not about Linux Mint version, I think. Can I use sda as a ...

How to install Wine 32-bit on Linux Mint 19 64-bit ?

Good morning, I was using Wine in Mint 18.2 and when I upgraded, wine didn't work on 32-bit EXE. It explains that I should install the package wine32 but I can't (unsatisfied dependencies). Then, I decided to remove wine and reinstall it properly. So, I did: manoaratefy@manoaratefy-hb ~ $ sudo apt-g...
