I had also this problem splashing up 10 seconds every start. This is only in Mint 21.
After testing on and on Mint 20.3 and Mint 21, this shows up only in Mint 21.
I will wait for a new kernel to see if it stop showing, otherwise I have to edit fstab.
There could be some kind of bug in Mint 21.

Re: Nvidia driver in LM 21 and LMDE 5
I made a fresh install of LM 20.3. I couldn't stand with LM 21 and "nouveau". The screen couldn't get higher resolution than 1024 x 768. Now I can get up to 1920 x 1200. That is great difference. And now I have kernel 5.4.0-124. As you told me, I can't have higher kernel than 5.4. This mea...

Nvidia driver in LM 21 and LMDE 5
LM 21 and LMDE 5 is a bad distro. In LM 20.3 there is a possibility to change hardware drivers on the graphic card to Nvidia. There you can make it in the control panel. But in LM 21 and LMDE 5 it's impossible to change drivers. Why? I have followed a lot of tips in the forum, but no one has worked ...

Installing new Nvidia driver
I'm trying to get over to LMDE5. When I set up a fresh install of LMDE5, the graphic started up with a half screen. Tried lot of tips and finally I had got Nvidia 340.108 and after a lot of trying, I made the install from root after killing X-server. The install seems to went well but after that I g...

Linux Mint 20 Mate 64
I have installed Mint 20 on one of my computers. It will not start. In the logon screen, the two options light up, but after that there is only a black screen and the cursor is blinking. Nothing more happens.
On my two other computers it works perfect. Any suggestions?
Please.

Re: Linux Mint 20 “Ulyana” MATE released!
Finally the theme has solved the big issue with file sharing with Warpinator.
This is probably one of the biggest thing that has happened on this century.
I am truly pleased and will give my best salute to the theme.

Re: Starting up Mint failure
This doesn´t happend when I tried other distros. And after I manage to start it up again, it will be turned on for many hours.
So the problem occur only in the startup sequence.

Thank you very much.
Very strange that kernel 24 works well in my laptop with Mint 18.3. But that could be another story.

Re: Boot hangup
Thanks gm10.
The problem for slow boot was kernel 4.15.0.24
I have now blacklisted kernel 24 manually in Updatemanager but not in etc/mintupdate.blacklist. Do I have to do this for running autoupdates/install?

Re: Boot hangup
Thanks.
I made a restore in timeshift and everything went well although I have the 24 kernel.
Well I can try to set back the kernel to 23 and do some updates to see if the problem still exist.

No, the file or directory does not exist.
But now suddenly the boot logged in to Mint perfect but it took 2 minutes.
Trying to set back timeshift now and see what went wrong.
