Re: Popping sound on speakers when starting 19.3

Going to mark this solved. Want to thank you guys for the responses... And I'm definitely keeping track of the sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/snd-hda-intel.conf <<<'options snd-hda-intel power_save=0' command. So far so good with videos and restarts but will check back on the thread for a couple of days i...

Re: Popping sound on speakers when starting 19.3

Tried the command and still got the shutdown pop. -It seems to be working ok with video though, but makes a quiet pop with the aplay /dev/zero command.

Re: Popping sound on speakers when starting 19.3

Removed power_save_controller=N and there's no quotes around the command. Restarted it, and startup is quiet. Speaker thuds when it shuts off.

I followed your command line from a few posts up, would it quiet the speakers without having to worry about an update overwriting?

Re: Popping sound on speakers when starting 19.3

I added " options snd-hda-intel power_save=0 power_save_controller=N " to the end of /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and restarted. It doesn't pop any more on startup, but there's a small pop when it shuts down. --Not sure about it popping when playing videos, sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't. S...

Popping sound on speakers when starting 19.3 (Solved)

Hi guys, I'm using LM 19.3 and when I start/shut off the machine (sometimes when I click a video) I get a loud pop from the speakers. I've found a thread where they thought : aplay /dev/zero might help, but am not sure what that means. Help? :? Thanks guys. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id...

Re: Firejail and Mint 19.3

I reinstalled 19.3, and followed the sudo apt get lines from this post: viewtopic.php?t=273533 and now the parent terminal comes up and firefox starts. Is there a way I can check and make sure it's working?

Re: Firejail and Mint 19.3

According to the web page below, I'm missing firejail-default that should be located in /etc/apparmor.d And activated with: # apparmor_parser -r /etc/apparmor.d/firejail-default https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Firejail#Apparmor_integration So a quick question... Is this something I could add wi...

Re: Firejail and Mint 19.3

I probably should mention I can't get thunderbird to firejail either. -- I might have messed something up when I deleted firejail yesterday wanting to do a clean install.

Re: Firejail and Mint 19.3

Ran the command, and now I'm getting the same error "You're fiefox profile cannot be loaded." from firefox. --- One step forward and two steps back? LOL

Firefox profiles.ini is located in the mozilla / firefox folder -- so it's not missing.

Re: Firejail and Mint 19.3

I'm using a launch icon on the desktop, so it's a firejail error. The command line is firejail firefox.
Did you run firecfg after you installed Firejail?
No, but I'll give it a try!

Firejail and Mint 19.3 (Solved)

Hi guys, I went from Mint 18.3 to 19.3 cinnamon yesterday, and am still working out some bugs. I'd like to firejail firefox but when I try I get: "Error: Access was denied while trying to open files in your profile directory." Firefox is working great, so I don't think it's a profile problem. Any he...

Re: Can't open software sources

My 'etc/apt/sources.list.d' has 'official-package-repositories.list' in it. Not sure if you actually need that there though. Maybe someone will know. -Sleeper, Mine does too now. Guess once the folder was there, Linux took care of it. -Anyway 'Software Sources' comes up now. Updating works after re...

Re: Can't open software sources

I created a /etc/apt/sources.list.d folder that might have helped get it working again. (What I created was just an empty folder though so I'm not sure if it helped). Got the information here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-tweak/+bug/428655 Pierre, It's still updating now, but now that you menti...
