Re: NEW foxclone50 linux image backup
Just tried to download, all images and locations fail to download, firefox reports 'failed'. Restarting PC did not help, downloads from other sites complete OK. Any issues on foxclone.com? edit: foxclone.org downloaded OK. I suggest you clear your browser's cache before trying to download from foxc...

Re: XFCE high Ram usage
Based on how new your hardware is, you should be using the 5.13 kernel. Open Update Manager --> View --> Linux Kernels and select the 5.13 kernel in the left column and the top kernel in the right column. When it's done, Reboot.

Re: Ethernet not working on linux mint 20.2 uma
I would open Update Manager --> View --> Linux Kernels and click on 5.13 in the left column then select the top kernel in the right column and click on install. Reboot when done and check ethernet.

Re: The boot time is pretty long 6min~
I wish you had stated that you're running from an external drive initially. This could indicate a thruput problem with the USB port or a problem with the drive. Two questions come to mind. First question that comes to mind is what kind of USB port is the drive connected to? USB2, USB3, USB3.1, USBc?...

Re: Linux Mint update on a usb Mint installation with Rufus
First off, I need to tell you that running ANY operating system from a flash drive is a bad idea. Flash drives allow much fewer writes than an external drive and will likely wear out within a year if you're using it as a primary operating system. Now, on to your issue. Since you didn't post any erro...

I see no evidence of a 6 min boot time in the output the OP provided.

Re: Spare Space ! LM17 and Thunderbird
In case you don't know, LM17 reached End of Life a couple of years ago. It no longer receives security updates. Advise the OP to update to LM19 or LM20.

In Network Manager, do you have the wifi switch turned on? Have you created a profile for your Ethernet connection?

Re: Hide media controls and album cover on the login screen
If you uninstall spotify and reboot, does the problem still exist? You need to determine if spotify is overriding LMDE's login theme or is something else going on.

Re: update-initramfs error
@rene - found a problem with location of Dejavu fonts. They were under /usr/share/fonts instead of usr/share/fonts/truetype/. I fixed that now getting new error: I: The initramfs will attempt to resume from /dev/sda4 I: (UUID=e54af37c-27dd-4752-8913-e2f94e6a60ca) I: Set the RESUME variable to overri...

Re: update-initramfs error
@rene - I checked the fonts it's looking for and made sure they're installed. Rebooted and still get the error message. I don't want to reinstall because I have a web server installed and don't want to spend the rest of the day reconfiguring it. @sleeper12 - Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't ...
