Re: installed Mint on macbook without wifi (no internet connection)
I have Linux on a MacBook Pro 13" from 2012, and the driver is automatically detected by the install process on Mint, and it is the 'bcmwl-kernel-source'. The only problem I have with it now is about the fans, that hit continously on Firefox when I am on Youtube. I am trying to solve it.

Re: Fan control imac 8.1
Hi,
If I install it, the fans are aaaall the time on, and it's a pain to view any youtube video (for example). I think it's not compatible with my model 10,1.

[Firefox 86] Swipe with 2 fingers ?
Hi all,
I have Epiphany and Firefox 86 installed on my MacBookPro 'minted'. Why the hell I can swipe right and left with 2 fingers to back/forward history on Epyphany, and not on Firefox ?
Thanks in advance

Try to install the newer Kernel 5.8 and see what happens. It's very easy from the update system icon.

Re: Fan control imac 8.1
I am on a MacBook Pro Retina 2012, and I am actively searching for that, without results for now. All the info I have learned about fans on macs, give the same result: it's not possible to control the fans on Linux. If I find anything, I will post you here. For the moment, play with the powertop / c...

Re: [MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2012] Trying to refine Graphic issues
Today after some attempts, my external monitor (an Apple Cinema 20") is working at his native resolution (and low-dpi ) while the MacBook Pro screen is working in hi-dpi native resolution 2880x1800 (like on the MacOSX system). All runs flawlessly right now, but the battery drains faster than in...

Re: [MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2012] Trying to refine Graphic issues
Installed tlp and tlpui (graphic user interface), and a tool named powertop that I have found on WWW. We will see how it performs now, on battery usage time terms. One think I do not understand, is when I am looking on youtube videos: If I use de nouveau driver, the fans don't spin because the %CPU ...

Re: [MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2012] Trying to refine Graphic issues
Today I fill a little brave and I will attempt to install the new kernel 5.8 and the latest nvidia-460 drivers, for test purposes, while I wait for news on the Intel only config. I have a fresh Timeshift copy of all, in case of catastrophe The Nvidia-460 driver does not support your card. Click the...

Re: [MacBook Pro 15" Retina 2012] Trying to refine Graphic issues
Firstly thank you for your time and interest. I think we are some people trying to get a new life for our old macbooks, and perhaps this post will help someone like me. My purpose actually is to use only the Intel graphics card, because I will use this machine por poor graphics demands, and the batt...

After some years far away from this OS and working on MacOS (home) and Windows (Office), I have returned to Linux Mint. I am using a MacBookPro 15" from 2.012, and no big problems to work properly. Thanks for your hard work !

Re: Need Help getting the Touchpad for the Ideapad330-15IGM to Work on Linux Mint 19.1
I have a Lenovo Ideapad-330-15IKB and all works perfectly on the Linux Mint 19.1 (Cinnamon). The Lenovo Ideapad 330 is "on sale" locally and I'm thinking of buying one to replace a recently deceased ASUS laptop. During the initial Mint install, was your Lenovo able to install wifi and blu...

Hi all,
I am coming from MacOSX, little by little, and searching the best Photos software management. In your opinion, which is the best to organizing/editing them ?
Best regards,
Joan
