I've used, or tried to use, Warpinator ever since it first was introduced to transfer files from my Android (Google Pixel) phone to my desktop Linux Mint computer. Blowing out dust with compressed air is much better. I had one laptop, almost burn a finger on the bottom when it was going. For format changing I use Mobile Media Converter. Open it and simply drag and drop the files. Do a whole CD at a time.

Not with the 50 or so installations I've done. Linux in, Windows out the door... so to speak.

The other thing I always do when doing an installation is -
Right click on the desktop
Go down to Customize
Auto arrange OFF

Generally, I would caution against "moving" or "switching" from Windows. It's too big of a change, and a lot of things may not work, or may not work to your expectation / satisfaction. You might end up getting frustrated and go back to Windows in anger. It is NOT a too big a cha...
