I have this machine. Its really great with Mint 21.3.
Only when i closed the lid, suspend did not work. I needed the latest Tuxedo Kernel. Installed the tuxedo sources, installed the latest kernel,
and it worked...
Great Laptop.
cheers, Bernd

Re: How long have you been using Linux ?
Since 1998.
First Suse, then Mandrake, Mageia..
Then 2014 ? Mint 17, because I wanted something easy for my wife. It was so good I changed to Mint entirely..
Now 21.3, Looking forward to Wilma...
cheers, Bernd

Re: Linux Mint 21.1: WLAN (Router Telekom Speedport smart 4) does not work
Hi,
i have a smart 4 plus which works without any problems.
Maybe you can solve the problem by updating to 21.3. This is easy, just use the update-manager (Aktualisierungsverwaltung).
Also your kernel is a little outdated. This is also solved by an update.
hope this helps,
cheers,
Bernd

Re: sigh....another ACER trying to get Mint
I had also problems with acer.
The solution was;
There was a hidden Bios menu, where RST was activated. This must be changed to AHCI.
The hidden menu could be activated with Control + s.
Hope it works.
Cheers,
Bernd

Re: Anyone successfully using Asus Vivobook Pro 16x with Mint?
Hi, my honest opinion is - return it, if you can. I had one of these, for a short time. First, everything worked with Mint (Vanessa, 21) Then the Display showed random color glitches. First a few. Then in a short time more. I used it around 4 weeks, then i didn't bear it anymore. Now i have a tuxedo...

Re: how to turn off RST
I had this problem with an Acer Laptop. You need to change RST to AHCI in Bios. To do this, you need the hidden Advanced Menue in Bios. With my Acer, go to Bios, Main Tab. Then Strg + S, then a new menue opens where you can switch RST to AHCI. unfortunately, its seems not always to be Strg + S, it d...

Re: Is there a way to edit sources to upgrade to Vanessa?
I did it all the time with switching sources. It may work. But: Backup all your data before. Have an install stick ready, in case you need it. switch the mint sources to vanessa, the ubuntu sources to jammy. Switch all other sources to jammy. then: sudo apt update sudo apt full-upgrade Good luck! ch...

Hi!
I did exactly this yesterday.
Absolutely no problems with 20.3 isos
So my solution (if the new ISOs cannot be repaired) is:
Install 20,3, Use the hopefully soon arriving upgrade-tool, and lift the system up to 21...

Re: Upgrading from Linux Mint 21 Beta to Stable Final Release
No there's no need to do anything. Just apply the regular updates. And beta goes to stable. I do this for years - installing beta by switching sources, installing new programs etc. , an wait until it gets stable. of course, in case of problems, i always have an install-stick ready and do regular bac...

Re: Thunderbird on Mint Backup
Hi, all data are in .thunderbird. Save this File (I do it with the whole $home). Restore it. But do not start thunderbird without this file. Wait until you restored the old file. Normally this should work. I do it since a few years like this (the oldest entries in .tb are from 2013). Only one time t...

Re: linux mint 20.2 to cinnamon 20.3 beta
The way I did it for years... First: Do a backup of your /home folder, in case something goes wrong. Then go to /etc/apt/sources.list.d Change as root in the file "official-package-repository.list" "uma" to "una" save then sudo apt update" sudo apt full-upgrade reb...
