Re: Disappearing Clock

I changed format to digital and then logged out as you suggested and the clock time format did not disappear. Thanks very much. Seems like long standing bug that could be fixed, but workaround appreciated.

Re: Disappearing Clock

This still appears to be an issue with digital clock. I changed time format and all time disappeared. I had to switch to LCD to get the time to come back on Linux mint 19.1

Re: Flaky system crashes all the time

Thanks for the suggestion. Was unable to copy ~982 GB of files from backup drive due to this issue. Just updated the kernel and am trying the file copy again. Will post again if I am able to get all the files without the X server crash.

Flaky system crashes all the time

Finally noticed why my computer randomly stops doing whatever it is up to and resets itself, X server crashes. Any ideas? Re: boot fail

None of the snapshots worked. It was toast corrupted disk somehow. Linux Mint bricked my laptop. I formatted installed straight Ubuntu, hated Gnome and came back to Mint after formatting again. Now my X server crashes randomly. Starting to suspect hardware issues on brand new laptop. No idea what is...

Re: boot fail

I just got a clean timeshift --restore run by using cp to transfer /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libtinfo.so.5 and /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libkmod.so.2 from my live CD to my mint install drive locations. Moment of truth - will it boot???
