Re: [SOLVED] Reaper cannot load from or save to Hard Drive when Auto Mount is turned on

gm10, I cannot thank you enough. By steering me through the Auto Mount options, you helped me to locate the cause of random appearances of the 2nd HD, and prompt me to understand why Reaper wasn't able to access HD. 1. Random and inaccessible mounting of HD were caused by a folder in mnt/ titled wit...

Re: Reaper cannot load from or save to Hard Drive when Auto Mount is turned on

[/quote] The recommended location to mount it would be in /mnt , so something like /mnt/custom_name . The /media location is meant for removable devices, i.e. the way it is currently configured for you. It's cleaner to keep the two apart. [/quote] Err.. it seems that the mount point isn't /media at ...

Also, here is that error message that pops up when I try to open the HD after it randomly appears on the desktop:

In order to unount, I have put in suoeruser password - says its being used by another user.

Re: Reaper cannot load from or save to Hard Drive when Auto Mount is turned on

The drive is actually mounted. I've provided an attachment showing you the terminal readout that matches the one above, but you can also see that the drive is mounted as far as the file manager is concerned.

Perhaps I have formatted drive incorrectly at inception?

Re: Reaper cannot load from or save to Hard Drive when Auto Mount is turned on

Hi gm10,

Many thanks for your interest.

I believe this HD is formatted Ext4, which is Linux.

What is the best way to provide you with system details?

[SOLVED] Reaper cannot load from or save to Hard Drive when Auto Mount is turned on

Hello all, Just letting people know that after using Reaper and Linux Mint successfully for some weeks, I suddenly had a problem where Reaper would not load project, nor save projects to a secondary internal drive. The problem became apparent after i had edited the Hard Drive's mount options to have...

Re: Behringer UMC1820 is working with Reaper and Linux Mint 19.1 and 19.2

One question. Did you use Reaper in Windows previously, and chose it in Linux for that reason? I ask because Reaper for Linux is still "experimental" and probably not as easy to find out how to do things with it like there is for Ardour et al,; but if you were already familiar with it, I can unders...

Re: Behringer UMC1820 is working with Reaper and Linux Mint 19.1 and 19.2

Good news update: Everything seems to be working smoothly now: No stuttering on playback and record. No interruptions when navigating, adding things, moving faders, etc. A few plug-ins are being used with no interruptions. Here's a list of what I would do to prepare Linux Mint, Reaper and UMC1820. 1...

Re: rtprio and memlock values not changing....

Maybe it's because I have #@username. The hash symbol and the @ symbol are not present on your example. Will try. The hash symbol is a comment. The @ symbol is for using a group name for the domain as it says at the top of the file. So either: username - rtprio 99 or @groupname - rtprio 99 I have j...

Re: Behringer UMC1820 is working with Reaper and Linux Mint 19.1 and 19.2

Update. Had to increase RT to 99. Not too many interruptions occurring during recording, but playback ain't that great when navigatiing, adding stuff, moving faders, etc. Have since learned there is a swathe of things that might need to be configured to get this working smoothly. Mainly to do with r...

[SOLVED] rtprio and memlock values not changing....

Hi all, I've been working away feverishly for the last couple of days trying to optimise my LM 19.2 MATE system for audio recording. What is stumping me is not being able to change the 'rtprio' or 'memlock' value. The methods given are to change the limits.conf file and add the following: #@audio (o...

Update: Hmm. So all was working fine, but now am experiencing stuttering. This may have happened after an upgrade of 19.2. Am going to keep a log of things I am trying find on the net that may help. By the way, CPU usage is well under 10% and there are no spikes. The UMC1820 is working well. Issue s...

Re: How many are 100% Linux here?

Been a Mac user and fan since the 1990s. It's been interesting to watch my opinion shift so much over time. I could see my 2009 macbook pro starting to become obsolete, but didn't feel comfortable shelling out huge dollars for the new model - a somewhat inferior build, with less connection points, a...
