Re: Snowden criticises Amazon for hiring former NSA boss

The BBC article did print the Privacy International response at the bottom of the article and their worry is well founded. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-54106863

Re: Snowden criticises Amazon for hiring former NSA boss

This practice is as common as dog poop. Hate to use Wikipedia as a reference but here it is : https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Revolving_door_(politics) Very well covered by alternative media for years but only tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists get their news from those places. This being the a...

Re: [SOLVED] Calculation question (probably simple, but I'm bad at it)

I think the point is that you have to keep using your diluting percentage and apply it to both new and used fluid ratio at each step.

Re: [SOLVED] Calculation question (probably simple, but I'm bad at it)

I have always wanted to know but was too lazy to try to figure it out... until now. Never been able to figure out the slide ruler thing. I used 25% and 1000ml for simplicity How much new fluid does it take to replace old fluid of 1000ml capacity if only able to remove and refill 250ml at a time ? 1 ...

Re: Computer refuses to work with normal microphone

I couldn't find anything in BIOS but in 8200 manual I found this paragraph : 10 Audio Subsystem These systems use the integrated High Definition audio controller of the chipset and the Realtek ADL261 High Definition audio codec. HD audio provides enhanced audio performance with higher sampling rates...

Re: Computer refuses to work with normal microphone

Maybe this will help. I recall reading that Audio output can be changed in BIOS I think . I mean to say that audio and microphone jacks can be reconfigured in BIOS. I have the Small form factor and use the rear as the speaker output. I will have a look in BIOS to see and post if I find something htt...

Re: Are Cryptocurrencies the Future or Just Another Bandwagon Sheeple are Jumping on?

With cash there is no middle man in the transaction that might disallow a certain purchase, if both parties agree then the transaction is complete and anonymous. Cashless societies can be used to control society and restrict personal freedom and are intertwined with the social credit system. Search ...

Re: Are Cryptocurrencies the Future or Just Another Bandwagon Sheeple are Jumping on?

I'll never invest in a virtual currency and I still think it's a fad doomed to fail. A cashless society is already possible without using virtual currency, the real limiting factor enabling a push of it are older folk who do not trust anything other than cash they can physically handle. COVID-19 ac...

The banks in Australia (actually worldwide) are pushing the cashless agenda forward as people are under lockdown https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8633457/Australias-big-four-banks-remove-thousands-ATMs-close-branches-coronavirus.html Also related https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1...

PPPs are used to conceal public borrowing, while providing long-term state guarantees for profits to private companies. Private sector corporations must maximise profits if they are to survive. This is fundamentally incompatible with protecting the environment and ensuring universal access to quali...

Re: The Coronavirus!

I was trying to point out that influenza spreads the same way but I don't recall any media campaign about wearing masks to slow the spread. If it is an effective reducer of this method of transmission why was it not considered before ? It should have become law in 1990 at the latest. Think of how ma...

The method of respiratory virus spread from aerosol particle inhalation has been known for years but suddenly in 2020, 6 months into a pandemic, the experts conclude that masks or facecloths can reduce the spread. Good work team!

Re: AT&T to switch off 3G and standard Telco in 2022...

5G from satellites? Um... I believe you might be confusing things. At any rate, I think most people just have no idea about what 5G is and what it entails and what countries are better suited to its deployment. America cannot be the 5G front runner no matter what and this for several reasons. The US...

Re: AT&T to switch off 3G and standard Telco in 2022...

5 G will be implemented in big cities but I think most rural areas of the world will not be getting 5G any time soon and 4G will be carrying the bulk of the data. Due to 5G being better suited for high density areas I believe China will have a much bigger user base and deployment in five or ten yea...
