Re: I wanted to love Mint but....

I've scoured the net to find that years of Nemo freezing has yet to be met with an answer that solves it. Here's an answer that solves it: "Use a different file browser." You don't have to change distros to do that. Agreed. When it comes to distributions, it may come with a packaged collection of s...

Re: Your fallback option in case Mint ever disappeared

Since Linux Mint is Ubuntu-Based, if LM was to disappear but Ubuntu remained, I would probably switch to another Ubuntu-based distribution, such as Linux Lite. If Ubuntu was to fall apart (for whatever reason), LMDE would always be there. If Infact, Linux Lite is my go-to distribution for low-powere...

Problems Recording Old Source Games (Team Fortress 2 / Portal) with OBS

This has been one of the only major problems I've encountered on my switch to Linux. Overall, everything else has gone swimmingly, and I'm certain I'm pretty used to the workflow now. However, although I don't publish videos of any type onto platforms such as YouTube, I do tend to record VODs of the...

Re: Folding@home-Team Linux Mint-76140

I've decided to contribute as much as I can (despite my limited hardware), but F@H isn't really utilising my GPU. It's recognising it, but not actually progressing, and according to the logs seen on the FAHControl client, I'm getting bad work units: 11:23:42:WU01:FS01:0x21:*********************** Lo...

Let me add my welcome, too, OtterGauze. You'll start to find Mint so comfortable after the "other" that you'll be asking yourself why you did not take the plunge years ago.
Quite honestly I'm finding it quite comfortable already, even compared to other linux distros. It's quite nice.

Re: Can you use the same My Passport drive in Linux and Windows?

Sadly, I can't give any particularly useful advice in this case, but due to the nature of these drives, reformatting might be the only effective way of going about it. Under "Technical Specifications" of the My Passport page on the Western Digital website, it reads Formatted for Windows® 10, Windows...

Welcome! Jump right in, the water's fine! 8)
Indeed, it just took me a while to psyche myself up to jump in. Now that it's done it ain't so bad after all.

Thanks for the welcome, I appreciate it! :D

I'm new to the cluster!

Hello Linux Mint community, So I finally snapped and decided to take the plunge into Linux as my primary operating system. As a user that has had a history of becoming accustom to primarily Windows-only software, the transition has been fairly rough to start (especially in the landscape of games), b...
