Re: Wifi connecting error (linux mint cinnamon 20)

Try loading a previous version kernel and see if that helps.

With upgrading to version 20, do you think I'll have to worry about the kernel version that come with the upgrade? My current kernel ...

Well, I uninstalled and re-installed "AndFtp" app on my Android cell phone and am now able to connect to my Thinkpad Linux Mint laptop ssh server. I just entered the correct IP address, username and password and it connected just the same as if I were on a wifi connection.

Re: What is your strategy for avoiding COVID-19 ?

The reality is, that I will not be going to any restaurants, Disney, Amusement Parks, Parks, or any people gatherings ETC. Only to buy food when needed at night, if grocery stores are open, till a proven and safe vaccine for covid-19 is out there to be distributed. Now thats the real reality.

Re: [Solved] concerning kernels

I've never seen this particular quirk happen before. I don't check kernels all that often either. I have seen other quirks though like some times the calendar fails to load in the right side of the panel, a restart fixes that. That happens maybe once in a hundred startups. Also sometimes I want to c...

Re: concerning kernels

Don't know why but after restarting my machine I now get other versions of kernels listed???? See attachment provided. i upgraded from Mint 19.0 to 19.2 to 19.3, all successful in place upgrades which is why, I think, I have 4.15.xx kernels. [Solved] concerning kernels

Should I be concerned about having showing only a couple of kernels in "showing linux kernels"? It used to show a lot of other versions of kernels. Anything to be concerned about?

SSH via Internet

I can connect to my ssh server via my local wifi in my house. Re: SSH, SFTP ETC

So, SSH and SFTP are two different things, both the same or what? That's what confuses me. Can you run them separately of do they always run together? Is one a connection protocol (SSH) and the other is used for file transferring (SFTP). Sorry for being so dense, but this has confused me for quite a...

Re: SSH, SFTP ETC

I used connect to server app in Linux mint 19.3. Typed in sftp://192.168.0.xxxx. It says connection refused. It will only connect when I have SSH server running on the laptop. Same thing when I run filezilla. So that means I have to run SSH server in order to connect to the lap top using SFTP right?...
