Re: Just can't get seeding port to open...

Try forwarding port 443 or some video game port. It could be that your ISP is blocking ports.
Alternatively it could be that your ISP has given you a private address and you're behind CG-NAT.

Re: Virus protection question

Generally you want to do four things to avoid malware: 1. Have a separate admin account This is by default on Linux Mint. Don't give permission to applications to run as administrator unless you trust them. Usually this means only doing so if it's from software that came preinstalled on Linux Mint. ...

Re: Unwanted notices

Sometimes sites will hook in to your browser to provide notifications.
Some websites use this as a scam.
You can fix this by resetting your browser settings.

Re: Strange Intruding Webpage

Does it happen on a page without heavy Javascript, like this forum or Wikipedia?
If so, you may need to install a Javascript blocker as your computer isn't handling heavy Javascript well.
If not, try updating Firefox.

clamav detected 88 infected files. ClamAV is unreliable when it comes to detecting Linux infections. To my knowledge Linux doesn't have a reliable way of determining which programs are connecting to which IP. Re: Welcome Ladies - post here :)

I shudder to mention this due to it being related to a 20+ year old publishing software product that is probably best left in the 90s where it belongs; but Winetricks makes it rather trivial to install even the most ancient .net 1.1 versions. PlayOnLinux also supports this kind of thing. BTW if you...

Re: How to set PlayOnLinux and Wine to use EssentialPIM into Linux Mint?

@jchelpau Which kind of front-end do you use for your Wine 4.7? I'm using winetricks on the command line, but this shouldn't be important. It should run with regular Wine. Have I to uninstall PlayOnLinux, then install before Wine 4.x to view also this release into the PlayOnLinx "Manage Wine versio...

Re: Has anyone had luck running orca with LM 19.X XFCE?

There's an Orca bug in Linux Mint 19 onwards that shuts it off after 30 seconds. I would recommend MATE or GNOME for better accessibility too.

You may have accidentally enabled the screen reader. Try pressing some combination of ctrl, alt, windows key, shift and 's'. alt+shit+s might work.

Re: [HELP] C++ Programming... ERROR

I do still stand by what I said about trying to figure it out yourself though, you'll learn way more in the end and it will also teach you one of the skills you need as a programmer. That is the skill to figure out why your code is buggy or throwing errors. So how do you figure it out? Read the ref...

Re: [HELP] C++ Programming... ERROR

If you can deal with it, learning C or C++ is a good skill and allows you to patch a wide variety of software.
