So the updated kernels are also for security fixes ok that makes sense and i guess its not as bad as windows :lol: actually im very glad to have linux and to be off that bastard beast called windows :D

Seems like overkill why is there a new kernel update every week or so? If it aint broke dont fix it can someone explain this to me please it get frustrating having to update my already working kernel all the time. :roll:

The only thing i can think of if i ever have a problem with an update of ANY kind is to do a TimeShift and bring it back a few hours or a week that would solve it right lol and i have no problem doing that thanks ALL for your time and effort.

My experience is that kernel updates usually go ok, but they can ruin your day. Luckily you can "shift boot" if something goes wrong. Yes i tried rebooting several times and the only buttons that do anything when i restart is F2 and F12. Pressing SHIFT key does nothing what so ever. I guess some peoples computers do other things when the shift key is pressed at start-up mine does nothing i held it down and pressed it and it stared...

I was able to change the 2 things you told me to change but when it came to the update i put # sudo update-grub and pressed enter but nothing happened it didnt ask for a password so it didnt complete. I'm a newbie to screenshots too not really sure that a whole other topic lol. Thanks for your help ...

I tried to do this erginemr but when i got to the sudo update-grub it wouldnt let me do that command and finish the process? I changed the 2 lines you told me too but when it got to that last part i couldnt complete it im sure im doing something wrong im use to windows so this is very strange to me....

I was thinking that i press F2 to get into that when rebooting? I know F12 gets me into an area where i can boot up from HDD/SSD or CD/DVD etc but maybe i press F2??? I dont know lol thanks for your help.

Ok thanks for your help. :D I did a windows 7 update about 5 years ago and it blacked out my screen and NOTHING was working i has to pay some guy 100 bucks to fix the damn thing, i was just worried something like that could happen in mint?

Ok thanks but what is Queue instillation for what does that do? So if i choose the older kernel and press install then on my next reboot it will be the older kernel? I tried that and it didnt work am i doing something wrong?
