From what I understand, LM 11 will be Gnome 3 but without the gnome-shell. Not sure why but if thats the way it is, so be it. Had similar probs logging back in after install. Also, the XFCE Control Center goes zombie every time I open it.

[invalid] High Pitched Feedback Through Speakers

I am getting a high pitched feedback sound through my speakers when using KFTPGrabber. I know it is not native to the Gnome desktop but I have found it to be the best FTP client out there. Also have notice a similar but less noticeable effect when installing new packages.
