Re: GnuCash configuration (Resolved)
I really like the sound of Gnucash - but I'm wondering if there's something similar that has multi-user support? It would be awesome if my wife could log in from her Mac and do some of her own entries. I already do all our business bookkeeping in Xero - but we need something like Gnucash for our ho...

RAID for internal (Data only) drives: ZFS or mdadm
As I'm getting ready for a move to 21.3 I'm looking into possably "raiding" some of my internal drives. Boot/root/home drive I always keep out of the raid, and I keep all my actual data on separate drives. Currently everything is jbod ext4 (mnt/a, mnt/b, etc). Backups are good Since I have...

Re: mintUpdate and Spices
Thanks, and yeah, I'm still on an older version. I'll be updating sometime towards the end of the month.
Specifically: Mint 21.0 (Vanessa)
This had mintupdate version 5.8.8
This version doesn't have anything like you describe. <shrug>

[Solved] mintUpdate and Spices
Hi Folks,
Is there any way to disable the ability of the Update program from working with Spices: applets, etc?
I looked and couldn't see any. I'm really getting annoyed at how often it pops up with what I consider to be minor things.
Thanks

Older thread but...Not working for me (thunar). Just can't get the appimage to run from a desktop launcher. worked fine in LM 20 Does your appimage work if double-clicked in file manager? What about on the command line? The reason I ask this is if the appimage won't run on the command line, it's no...

Re: Mint 21/Cinnamon vs. DosBox
FWIW,
I've been having the same problem. Mint 20 Cinn no issues exiting Dosbox. Just the other day got around to installing some old games and the problem shows up.
On the plus side, restarting Cinnamon (alt-f2 then r then enter) sets it back. For now I should probably just script that.

Re: Email encryption: RSA or ED25519?
Answering my own post...after another half hour googling...
I finally said "screw it" and just opened seahorse (the gnome gui keymanager - https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Seahorse) to create a keypair.
At least as of version 41 (I'm running Linux Mint 21) RSA was the only available option.

[Solved] Email encryption: RSA or ED25519?
Hi Folks, While setting up pgp encrypted email isn't especially difficult, I find myself confuzzled at which algo to use. For ssh I use ed25519 Traditionally for email rsa was the choice. Is that still the case? Or has ed25519 replaced it. sigh...I've been preaching to people about pgp email for so ...

Re: No Sound Front and Rear Audio Jacks
Looks like you're in the same boat as me. Only showing it wasn't fixed in the 6.5 kernel  The changed how the sound cards work on motherboards and many are now using some kind of frankenstein usb - thingy for sound. In my case the rear speaker jack works, but nothing else. so it's usb add ons f...

Re: Thunderbird 115 Update - Solved
Part of the issue, I believe, is the basic design philosophy of TB (and MANY) other programs let's be honest. They often have the UI tightly integrated with whatever is going on in the background. If you start with the idea that everything UI related should be modular and user configurable, it actua...
