Re: Dell Inspiron Issue

Hook-up your laptop to a wire instead of wireless right now. Goto Control Center - Hardware - Additional Drivers to find your wireless drivers. Now you have wireless. I do this with every laptop first with any Linux, so I can go wireless.

To compile C/C++ programs using gcc you must have the build-essential package installed. The build-essential package contains all the headers that C/C++ need like <stdio.h> or <iostream.h>. To install build-essential type the following in a terminal: sudo apt-get install build-essential flashplugin-...

Dell Inspiron built-in SD card reader

I have Linux Mint 9 install on an external HDD hook to my Dell Inspiron laptop. Everything works except for the built-in SD card reader.

What drivers? Where to edit or add lines to? How can I get my built-in SD card reader to work fine using Linux Mint 9?

Idaho Modder An enclose HD case should work, but I would use 2.0 USB instead of firewire.

Most motherboards are set-up to boot from USB, eSata, firewire, & media drives.

I had problems setting a HD firewire encloser using Linux, so I switch to 2.0 USB and didn't had any problems.

I truly hate Windows. But to a gamer like yourself, you should still use Windows for Windows base games. Have two hard drives, one set up for Windows games only using Windows XP as your OS. The other hard drive set up for your other computer usage, with a Linux OS of your choice. It's hard to set up...

Or did you use xsane , by itself, to scan to pdf directly?

I use Xsane to make me the pdf file. I scan, save image as pdf. I could also save as:
ext,jpeg,pdf,png,pnm,postscript,text, and tiff.

I use the pdf file to fax it over the internet using faxzero.com for free.
