Re: json to html

Guess I'll use one of my spare machines for that task. Always have had a basic distrust for online only tools.

Re: json to html

I don't use Firefox any longer. Plus I'd prefer not to need to load multiple json files one after another. I've got dozens to work with.

Can't import Thunderbird abook.mab (Solved)

Needed to create new profile. Copied over the former abook and history mab files. File size indicate copy succeeded. But the data doesn't appear. Did I possibly miss an important step?

Re: Ikea is taking over the world!

Less than 3 miles away from that store. Will be awhile before I challenge the store crowds. In the meantime just enjoying the very competitive furniture ads from the area competition.

Re: Playtime

Wondering if I have hardware issues. Trying to install Mint 18.1 the installer hangs when about 2/3rds done at Configuring Hardware. Hanging for hours. Peppermint 9 reports a module missing but the description flashes by too fast to read. The display doesn't allow screen movement by Alt-drag to comp...

Re: Playtime

I'll give each Mint 18.1 and Peppermint 9 a try. Curious at this point is there a method available to "install" the image onto the SD card using a card combination read/writer on another machine? Sure would take less time if possible.

Re: Mint 19.1 Unable To Mount Android SmartPhone?

Rephrasing what Moem replied with. With the phone on look for a pop-up on the phone when you connect the USB cord. You may need to grant permission at the phone for the connection to be established.

Playtime

Dug out an old friend, an Asus Eee PC 701. Thought it was dead but surprising just needed the OS reinstalled.

The oem Xandros is horrendous. Curious what other Minters that still play with one of these have found to be the newest Mint version that works. The SD slot has a 16GB card available

Editing saved exported bookmarks

Over the years I've accumulated an assortment of saved bookmarks files. As luck would have it each seems to still have something worthy of being retained while the rest get duplicated time and time again. I'd like to pick and choose various bookmarks and save to a new importable file. I've tried ope...

Re: Mint update (Solved)

Well sort of. Got frustrated trying to apply the recommendations and seeing nothing change on the screen. Opted to reformat the drive and do a fresh install. So far things are working.

Appreciate the guidance received.

Re: Consolidating files

Let me try this from a slightly different angle. Over the years I have made archives using multiple CD's, DVD's and Blu-Ray discs. Each of these discs have numerous folders and sub-folders. Goal is to separate all the files from their current location and dump them together en masse. Currently I cop...

Re: Consolidating files

Somehow the original request has been bypassed. Perhaps just need someone else to jump in here . Command being used is: find . -mindepth 2 -type f -print -exec mv {} . \; I need to have that command modified to output either just the newest files or list the ones with changes in some sort of order

Re: Consolidating files

But I am doing so to multiple folders as in one DVD at a time. Rather than copying the entire contents over what would the command line look like if reading the DVD with the output on an external hard drive? ex: /media/jim/ This source DVD having multiple folders and sub folders. If it matters I nor...

Consolidating files

Currently I have multiple CD's, DVD's, and Blu-Ray discs filled with years and years of archives. I'm in the process of removing them from multiple folders and saving into a common folder. Command being used is: find . -mindepth 2 -type f -print -exec mv {} . \; Many filenames get repeated and I'm p...
