Re: Video stuttering while streaming in YouTube, Amazon Video and Netflix

I noticed you had a intel gpu. So did my my laptop, I upgrade from the free intel driver/shaders to the non-free and streaming works great now, when you install them, you will see it uninstall the free ones.

apt install intel-media-va-driver-non-free && apt install i965-va-driver-shaders

Re: NVIDIA Driver Not Usable on LDME5

Sometimes "blacklist-nvidia-nouveau.conf" doesnt work, and you need to create a /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf with blacklist nouveau in it. A simple, "echo 'blacklist nouveau' | sudo tee --append /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.conf && sudo update-initramfs -u -k all" , should...

Re: NVIDIA Driver Not Usable on LDME5

I too have an older nvidia card and use 390 (which eol is Dec 2022, so its still supported for now). The issue is some of the Debian builds only support kernels to a point like 390.144 only goes to 5.10. Since I'm running the liquorix kernel at 5.17.7-1, I pulled the nvidia 390.147-4 driver from sid...

Re: Cinnamon crashing to fallback mode

One question, kinda important bit of info the forum community needs...Are you using nouveau (the foss (free-open source software driver)) or using the nvidia driver and if so, did you using the debian nvidia bible to install it (https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers) or the .run file from th...

Re: how install kernel 5.15 on LMDE5

Just install and use the Liquorix Performance Kernel >> https://liquorix.net/. You don't even have to add the repo, you can install manually >> https://liquorix.net/debian/pool/main/l/linux-liquorix/. Im running right now, 5.16.0-14.2-liquorix-amd64. The one issue is the nvidia dkms depends on what ...

Re: ERROR: NVIDIA

Whoa... you have 4 Nvidia drivers installed 340/390/450/460, I'd uninstall all of them but 390. You may use synaptic to do that or remove them all at once and start over. if that's the case >> sudo apt-get purge nvidia* && sudo apt-get autoremove reboot and then https://wiki.debian.org/Nvidi...

Re: Nvidia Settings does not open

Could be the driver is not loading and as SMG suggested, we need a inxi to see. When installing Nvidia on lmde4, do not use the Nvidia-***.run drivers from Nvidia, but rather follow the Debian Nvidia guide >> https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsD ... 2Buster.22

Re: lmde 4 fails to run in live edition and same when installed

I agree, you could use something like jlivecd, to open the iso, update it, switch to 5.10.0-bpo7 kernel and amd/ati/radeon firmware and then recompile the iso. Its the only work around I can think of. I use jlivecd all the time to make a small version of lmde4, that I can 'toram' or load the whole s...

Your trying to boot PXE (Preboot Execution Environment), notice its asking you to check your 'cable'. Go back into the bios, under Lan turn pxe off and set to boot off the hard drive from wiki >> In computing, the Preboot eXecution Environment, PXE (most often pronounced as /ˈpɪksiː/ pixie) specific...

I will agree with you on gpu install, the Nvidia<whatever-version>.run straight from their site, imho, don't work very well and are more difficult to remove if need too, The Debian way is best
