Re: Issue with yellow color in applications system wide.
Not sure if the attachments didn't come out properly or if there just isn't any yellowing. I can imagine up some yellow grey or pink grey or green grey but can't clearly see yellowing. Maybe get the monitor settings checked? Before you do that though - boot up into Live Mint and see if it is still t...

Re: Firefox 81.0+ not launching in Mint 20.0 & 20.1
Just fyi: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/security/known-vulnerabilities/firefox/ Do a Timeshift snapshot first. If you don't use Thunderbird, you might want to purge mozilla. If you do use thunderbird, look in your /home folder for .mozilla and delete anything to do with Firefox, then try installing ...

Re: Firefox 81.0+ not launching in Mint 20.0 & 20.1
Hi, Welcome to the forum. The browser is a window into your computer (if you see the router as a Front door with locks and Mint as a baseball bat which is sitting next to it). If you have an old version of a browser, it is like having an open window with a small sign saying 'back in 5min'. A basebal...

Re: Foxclone - linux image backup, restore & clone
I use R-drive Image without any problems. The program creates its own starting Iso, which works great from a flash drive with Ventoy . Just looked that up, seems like it would be a great tool for an IT Manager of a busy office system. at $45 bux though, think I will pass for my casual at home needs...

Re: Can’t boot into anything after installing mint
Can you boot into the Live Mint, open Terminal (Menu/terminal) and copy/paste the following commands and the copy/paste the output into your reply.
If Windows isn't important to you, you could just install Mint again but use the default option.
Code: Select all
sudo fdisk -l
Code: Select all
df /boot

Re: Issues creating a new user
Don't worry about your English. Mine isnt that good either and I've been learning it since birth. Yes, try the GUI (Graphical User Interface) rather than the CLI (Command Line Interface) and see if that helps. Don't worry - if you open the Users and Groups menu it won't hurt - only if you do somethi...

As Jerome said,
Go to Menu
type in Users
Click 'Users and Groups'.
Does that solve your problem?

Re: Firejail and Apparmor with Vivaldi?
Not sure whether you've tried the following or not - but just in case you haven't this would be the first step.
If you have the icon on the desktop for Vivaldi,
Right click
Properties
Command: firejail /usr/bin/vivaldi-stable %U
Ok
(Does depend on which version of Vivaldi you're using)

Re: Firejail and bittorrent
Put a link on your desktop for qbittorrent. Right click that link Properties Command: firejail qbittorrent %u Close The default setting is that Firejail only lets qbittorrent access the ~/Downloads folder. If you want to play around with ports - that would be Firewall Configuration which can be acce...

Re: Little physical shock
Its not clear what you mean by everything seems to be running. Was it on when you moved it? If it was, did it stay on and just the monitor blacked out - in that case most likely is check the video cables (externally) before opening up if you aren't used to the inside of the box. If it was on and you...

Re: Shutdown problem - Sony Vaio
Welcome to the forums. Nice one for posting your inxi. It does look as if you are VERY low on RAM and you might have been better off with Xfce rather than Cinnamon. It might also be worth spending a little to add some RAM to your system - you'll see an immediate improvement. Go to Menu and type in l...
