Re: HELP! My files got infected by some ransomware .HESE!

Most don't know how much disk space a picture takes up or the bandwidth they have or what it means. You lot are the odd ones out...

Re: Best Anti-malware?

Just to stick the oar in,
If you do get an attachment or something you're not sure about when you download it, try uploading the file to the following site and see if it comes up as a problem or not - it's like having 60 odd anti-virii at your fingertips :

A very very quick search on a search engine turned up this site which may work.

Re: Antivirus for thunderbird?

Probably not the answer you want to hear but most Linux users are probably happy not to have AV on their computer (see the following link) and most Windows users are most likely running AV software anyway - if they're not then thats most popularly considered to be their problem. https://easylinuxtip...

Re: Mouse pointer sometimes jumps to the right corner and I have to restart my PC

Try a few simple things first. Does it work when..... -On a different computer? - no other USB devices are plugged in? -In a different port? -In Live Mint? -On a different computer? - Different mouse on your system? -Disable touchscreen? Also, post back with the following output: xinput --list Can y...

Re: openshot install

With AppImages, you should be able to plonk them wherever you want and make a link/shortcut/symbolic link to point to it that you can put on your desktop or menu.

Re: Power supply toggles only when system ON

Hi, Welcome to the forums. Just to check the obvious - are you sure the charger hasn't got a loose connection in it. Can you try bending it (usually they tend to have a problem near the connectors unless you have a hamster chewing cables) and see if laptop charges then stops charging when the laptop...

Re: Easy software for printing photo

I think the perfect option would be Irfanview but you'd need to run Wine or a VB with Windows. However, the next Linux options are Nomacs, Kolourpaint or XNVIEW MP (best option I think). Maybe others can pitch in with better ideas? Install them and try them and uninstall them if you don't like them....

Re: Can My Browser Get Infected with Malware?

If you are sure your FF is updated to the latest version, it is running Firejailed (sandboxed) and you are in Private mode so nothing theoretically should be saved anyway, you should be ok - but that is 'should'. To be sure, I'd run Live Mint with the system drive disconnected (just because you're p...

Re: A question about the basic of linux mint live session

Try it and see. You might decide you hate it or love it. That is what the Live version is for. (That and helping to fix things occassionally which Windows doesn't have - or at least there are third party apps but not native apps) As long as you don't purposefully mount your system drive, it won't hu...

Re: Linux mint 20 boot error and video drivers error

That sounds strange if you are running LM20. Support for 5.0 kernel stopped months ago so you should be using, if you are using MINT 19.3, either the 4.15 or the 5.4 kernel. Can you copy/paste the output to the following commands. fdisk -l inxi -Fxz When you've done that, highlight each output and p...
