How should I configure a Linux machine to share internet connection with a W10 machine
Hi, I'm trying to set up my malware lab. I have 2 laptops: on one I have installed Linux Mint Cinnamon, on the other one I have installed Windows 10. Both laptops have 1 ethernet port/NIC and one wireless interface. I have also 1 physical network line to dedicate to this setup, with only one etherne...

Linux Mint 19.1 beta: shutdown button?
Hi ,I've just installed this beta version, but I can't see the 'shutdown' button either on the panel or the menu.
After I installed it, I moved the panel on the left side. I don't know if the shutdown button wasn't there from the beginning or after I moved the panel.
Can anyone help to to get it?

Re: Passport Photo Software
Printing with the scale above written, the image is re-sized in 25x32 mm. Why? I checked again the measures before printing, they're 34.92x45.12 mm.
I solved using a ruler on my monitor.

Re: Passport Photo Software
When I go on scale image and change the image size in 35x45 (changing even the measure from pixel to mm), then automatically change in 34.92 and 45.16. Why?

How can I manage my printer?
I have installed Mint 14 64 bit (Cinnamon version). I have a Canon MG8150 multifunction inkjet and thus I installed the appropriate drivers. The drivers seems to have installed properly. The scan seems to work, and the scan utility the applications/graphic menu' gives me options (ike dpi quality) to...

I installed Mint 14 Cinnamon, and I have to say I've been positively surprised.
No crash, and quite responsive.

Re: Mint 14,Mate and Cinnamon edition: which one is more sta
OK. Cinnamon and Mate are just desktops, they aren't distributions, so asking which is the most stable is not a really relevant question imho. You could ask the question which is the most stable - MInt Debian or Mint Main, that would be a valid question (though it may well create some arguments :lo...

Mint 14,Mate and Cinnamon edition: which one is more stable?
As per title, I'm looking to install Mint 14 64 bit on the desktop of my girlfriend. The specs are : Celeron dual core G550 2.6ghz (it's based on sandy bridge architecture, it's not extremely fast, but still a capable dual core I think) VGA geforce 430 1GB ddr3 128 bit (again, not top spec, but it s...

How an I disable MSGE extensions?
I have 2 question which I can't find the answer for:
1-As per title I'm trying to figure it out how can I disable/uninstall part of or all the MSGE extensions.
2-Also, I'd like to know if there's a way to disable gnome-shell graphical desktop effects
Does anybody know the answers?

LMDE gnome 64bit -201109 :the installer does not start
I made a usb bootable key with USB universal installer (latest version support latest LMDE edition). The livedvd boot with apparently no problem (I can see a read fail, during boot but it's too fast to read what's that about). Everything works fine under the live environment. Only issue is that when...

Tools used to develop linux mint
Hi,
I'm using Mint since a while, and as I'm going to develop a distro for an universitary project for my thesis, I would like to ask which tools the developers of Mint use to remaster Ubuntu and develop the tools for Mint and which guide or howto or knowledge the needed to do what they already did.
