Re: Wifi is not working in Linux MInt Cinnamon 19.2

Hello shadmen, the first thing you do is to go into the BIOS and look, if there is the possibility of enabling wifi. Here is the link to the service manual of HP Pavilion G6 with the information of the setup utility: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/71809/Hp-Pavilion-G6.html?page=89#manual And you ...

Hello shadman,

can you please post the output of

Re: Disconnections and Network Manager freezes with my Ethernet hub

Hello dobp, it could be a problem with the USB power management, because your hub is self powered. On the following website is a solution with an 7 port hub. Maybe it can help you, too. https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2330904 If that doesn't help, please show the outputs with plugged-in hu...

Hello Cybernetic,

I think, that is a good decision, because your USB adapter is known to be difficult with linux. Here is a website with recommendations, maybe it helps you:

Re: WIFI ausente Ralink RT5390

Hola JuliaSLC,

un intento sería apagar el wifi de HP. Los módulos del fabricante a menudo impiden que el otro módulo se encienda.

Code: Select all

echo "blacklist hp-wireless" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist_hp-wireless.conf
Luego un reinicio.

Re: WiFi networks are not showing up on my laptop

Hello GreyPi, I've found out, that you should have the RTL8822CE chipset and this is supported from kernel 5.2 on. I can't find any other driver for it. So you have to install such a kernel and your wifi device can run with the RTW88 module. Here is a how-to to get more recent kernels: https://easyl...

lspci -nnk | grep -i net -A2
Your model can't be find in Huawei website. Do you have a link or another name for it as listed in the inxi output?

Re: WiFi problem: tp-link TL-WN8200ND

The blacklisting doesn't work with the live system. You can try to unload the modul with: sudo rmmod rtl8xxxu See, if it changes the behaviour. If not, load it again with: sudo modprobe rtl8xxxu Then you could try the same with the other module rtl8192cu: sudo rmmod rtl8192cu See, if it changes the ...

Re: WiFi problem: tp-link TL-WN8200ND

Hello Cybernetic, maybe the problem is, that you have two wireless driver loaded: rtl8192cu and rtl8xxxu You could try blacklisting the rtl8xxxu in the terminal: echo "blacklist rtl8xxxu" | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d/rtl8xxxu.conf Then reboot and see what happens. (If it doesn't work, you can undo the...

This is good news :) Add [Solved] to your thread title to help other users. Maybe you could also add TL-WN822N v4 and ID 2357:0108 to the title.

Re: WiFi adapter: Archer T2U Nano

Hello emitor, I can only think of two things we could try right now. The first one is, that you go to the device manager in Windows and look, if you can find informations about the used driver. The second is, that you setup manually a network connection with the entrance of your network SSID, the ri...

This here is your wifi adapter: Bus 001 Device 006: ID 2357:0108 You have not a tplink wn722n but a TP-LINK TL-WN822N v4 or v5 with an RTL8192EU chipset. https://wikidevi.com/wiki/TP-LINK_TL-WN822N_v4 This is supported by the kernel from 4.3 on with the rtl8xxxu driver, so it should work on your sys...

Hello emitor, I don't know by now your hardware and system, but is it possible, that you have secure boot enabled in UEFI/BIOS? Re: WiFi undetected HP laptop

Hello rdemedrano, you have an Intel Wifi 6 AX200 device and need a kernel 5.1 and newer to get it to work: https://linux-hardware.org/index.php?id=pci:8086-2723-8086-0080 The offered kernels of the 5 series in the update manager aren't recent enough, so you have to get a more recent one: https://eas...
