Re: Unable to successfully install Linux Mint on Asus Q535UD laptop

Hello kanichiro, your nvidia graphic card is only running with default nouveau driver. Maybe this can be the cause of your freezes. Have you looked in driver manager, if there is another nvidia driver is offered to install (probably the 390.xxx)? Your card can also use 430.40 driver as stated on nvi...

Re: 18.3 to 19.2 on Toshiba Satellite Pro

Hello jj2pp, you wrote you want to make an upgrade from 18.3 to LM 19.2 and there is a tutorial how to do it. You can't easily do it with an USB-stick. If you follow it step by step, you should be successful: https://community.linuxmint.com/tutorial/view/2416 After upgrading to LM 19 you can upgrade...

Re: Graphics Driver and low resolution

Then it seems that you have already integrated the ppa. There are more possible drivers listed in the driver manager. You should try the lower driver numbers, maybe you can find one that works. Go backwards from 430. In your output is only the default driver listed, so something didn't work with 430...

Re: USB WiFi Driver won't install

Yes, this is the internet, too, but not the whole one :D I asked for the model like "TP-Link Archer...". That would make it easier for research the "other" places in the www. AC1200 means "only" the 802.11ac network standard and 1200 the bandwith and that is found very often.

Re: boot malfunction

Hello ox85,

that seems to be not a rare problem. What laptop model do you have and is it a dual boot? Maybe you also know, what graphic card is inside?

Have you done this:
BusyBox v1.22.1 (ubuntu 1:1.22.0-15unbuntu1.4 built in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

Hello a1623yankee,

it is the best, to go to opera forum and search for it. It is more a browser related than a linux thing.

Re: Linux Mint Xfce 19.2 system freeze

Hello hppav, it's not good, that you have more problems with your computer, but it is very confusing, when you open one thread after the other with little or no informations. The minimum you should do, is to show an actual terminal output of inxi -Fxz I think it would be better to first solve an exi...

Re: LinuxMint Xfce 19.2 Audio problem?

If you want to downgrade the kernel, you have to reboot. In the grub menu go to the advanced options and choose the 4.15 for the system start. Then back again in Linux, go to the update manager > view > linux kernel and deinstall the 5-kernel.

Re: LinuxMint Xfce 19.2 Audio problem?

Hello hppav, your sound card has the same specification as the multimedia controller in the linked Database. In your output there is no driver given for the card, so the solution in the database seems to be right. You can try to use the 5.0.0.25 kernel, which is offered in the update manager (view>l...
