Re: [SOLVED] I get this error when checking for updates using the Update Manager...

I have this problem also when I change my source to another one. I don't have the knowledge to understand the answer of @karlchen unfortunately. Would you be able to help me using novice vocabulary?

Re: How does Linux Mint notify of a system version update?

to answer your question though, you will have to click on the edit button in update manager and then it will tell you if an upgrade is available. i only accidentally found that out on the most recent upgrade. only started using mint when version 19 came out. Just clicking on Edit to see the drop-do...

EDIT: Also, know that it's not critical to immediately update to a new version once it's released.
The thing is that I hope to get this feature with the coming release: viewtopic.php?f=90&t=297586&p=1657430#p1657430

Re: How does Linux Mint notify of a system version update?

Thank you both.
That's something I don't understand as a new user of Linux Mint. The feature was there for some time until it vanished. I'm thinking about this other one viewtopic.php?f=212&t=296238

How does Linux Mint notify of a system version update?

When Linux Mint 19.2 becomes available, will I see a pop-up window like in Ubuntu? or will I have to check in the Update Manager.
I prefer not to set up automatic download/install.

Bug solving process on Github

Not sure what the status 'Analysed' means here:
https://github.com/linuxmint/blueberry/issues/72
Seems last March at least some functionality was added (follow the PR link, it's merged now).

Re: Toggle switch to connect ON/OFF bluetooth device

Well, I found another way: when I want to switch source from pc to smartphone: I don't touch anything on the pc and - I turn off my speaker (through a button on my speaker) - then I turn my speakers back on. It is now ready to be connected with my smartphone. when I want to switch back to listen to ...

Thunderbird: right-click to create a new from filter

In Linux Mint Thunderbird when I right-click on an email address in the email header and it opens a context menu there is no option to create a new from filter.

I had this option in Ubuntu Thunderbird.

Can it be a different Thunderbird installed on Linux Mint and Ubuntu?

Re: This script will enable bluetooth and connect to your preferred bluetooth device and vice versa

I had missed your post and posted a similar concern: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=212&t=296238 I was thinking more of usability with audio devices but secutity is also involved, indead. And for a solution I was thinking of a toogle button easily accesible through a system tray icon. ...

Naming when saving a file with extension

When I want to save a picture file with .png extension, the title is highlighted in green and I can type something else as a title for the picture I want to save. But when I first select another folder instead of the default folder, and I start typing: a search box appears and start searching for wh...

I don't use my speakers much but all I have to do is turn them on and they connect automatically
That would be awesome. Could you detail how you set it up? In Blueman, right?
