All I did recently over there was asking "why a lot of Linux includes Ubuntu got hacked by Ransomware"
I was not trying to against Ubuntu at all, I just want to get some technical responses. Seem like admin would ban anyone over there as long as not saying Ubuntu is the best in the world.

Re: On-Line banking
Hi bally1001, I just read your post and the good replies to it. Here are my thoughts on this as well. There are many really good posts already in this forum on using Linux regarding online banking which in my humble opinion (IMHO) and others is much safer than other operating systems. But, that doe...

Re: USB stick suggestion for installing a full Linux Mint in it
Then I'd go for 64GB minimum, USB 3.0 or 3.1 if your system supports it. Otherwise forget it as running the distribution would be too slow. I used a Sandisk Ultra Fit to run Fedora for a while. That got exceedingly hot though because the internals were of course shrouded by the USB port itself. I w...

. ⋱ ➢The "best" will get some very subjective (fan boy) responses. ⋰ I have no idea what the "best" is; however, I have had good luck with the PNY brand. I have a variety of 16GB, 32GB, and 128GB devices. I bought them from Frys while they were on sale. You will notice the...

Re: Does Dual Boot with Windows have all these problems? (with Youtube links)
Most of the newer problems with dual-booting are solved by using an UEFI setup instead of BIOS. I've been dual-booting off-and-on since Windows XP/Redhat Enterprise Linux back in the early 2000's and have never had any major problems. Just make sure you're dual-booting for the right reasons - serio...

I thought about dual boot then found out this video. Sound like very bad. I am having Windows 10 in multiple computers and I don't need a pure LInux Mint machine. Install full Linux Mint in an USB stick is a good idea for my case?

Will LMDE support 32 bits in future? Good for old laptop with 2gb ram?
My old notebook cpu does not support 64 bits. Is the 32 bits LMDE good for long term use with support and update? Would 2gb ram enough for some smooth basic usage like web browsing?

Re: Difference between Linux Mint and Ubuntu
Since Mint is based on Ubuntu, Mint is meant to be an improvement of what you get with Ubuntu. Otherwise, there is no point in making it (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong). ... I don't think Mint was created as an improvement to Ubuntu so much as to create an alternative Linux distribution. ...

I am a little concerned about the effect of not being able to master Linux, is having on people. It has to be the most unintuitive learning process, I have ever encountered.
