Re: Can not install USB Wifi Adapter [SOLVED]

Jeremy B, would your instructions below that worked for AndruWho work for Linux Mint XFce on my Lenovo M58 Ultra Small Form Factor desktop? I had to reinstall Windows 7 because Linux Mint Xfce could not detect my Wi-Fi connection. Thank you. -------------------------- Re: Can not install USB Wifi Ad...

Plug n Play Wi-Fi adapter that works in LM Xfce

Hi, Summer 2019, I switched from Win 7 to LM 19 Xfce on two of my older pcs (3 pcs, 1 newer pc) leaving one with Win 7 software that I could not find suitable replacements for in Linux. I was very pleased with LM 19 Xfce EXCEPT I had to use Ethernet cables (all pcs were in the same room) as I could ...

Re: Belkin Wireless USB Adapter

Hi again, I never could get my Belkin F7D1101 USB Adapter to work in Linux Mint Xfce. Though it is approximately 10 years old, it worked and continues to work flawlessly on my two Windows 7 pcs with my third pc connected via ethernet cable to my modem. I have since dropped Spectrum internet and conn...

Hi, I have three Windows 7 pcs, one now has Linux Mint Xfce installed exclusively and is connected to my router/modem via ethernet cable. For my other two pcs, still Windows 7, they are connected to the internet with Belkin Wireless USB Adapter and software. These devices are probably close to ten y...

Re: How do I create a password for Linux Mint 19 Xfce

The fact that you seemed unaware of your original password made me wonder whether you have been doing the regular software updates. These are indicated by the shield-shaped icon in the panel (taskbar), which shows a green tick if everything is up-to-date or a blue symbol if there are updates to be ...

Re: How do I create a password for Linux Mint 19 Xfce

Hi Janesdf. I think you did create a password when installing Mint (I don't believe you can avoid it) and use this password when installing updates and such. But you might be referring to automatic login. Are you wanting to need to specifically log in when booting up instead of just booting straigh...

You did see that I posted my question in the "Newbie" forum, correct? I asked for the steps as when I check in menu, there is System, and Settings, but nothing titled Account Details in either.

How do I create a password for Linux Mint 19 Xfce [SOLVED]

Hi, When I installed Linux Mint 19 Xfce, I did not create a password. I've looked through the menu and various files on my pc and there is nothing obvious to me (like in Windows 7) on how to create a password when I did not create one originally. I searched online and found various articles on how t...

Dash to Panel?

I'm about three weeks into using Linux Mint 19 Xfce, coming from Windows 7. I really like Aero Peek in Windows 7 where I could see a full screen of taskbar items and see my desktop, simply by hovering my cursor over the item. I read that Dash to Panel would allow me to do the same thing. I installed...

Need Help Adding USB HP Laserjet Printer SOLVED

Hi, I have Linux Mint 19.1 Xfce. I added my HP Laserjet 4000 printer via USB by clicking Menu, typing Printer, selecting "Printers", clicked "Add" and continued following the steps. It does appear in Linux and in LibreOffice. However, the document did not print, the status remained at "processing". ...

Re: Panel Disappeared after Wine Install

I took a break after my last post, came back and just for the heke of it, right-clicked my desktop. Wine is there and installed. HOWEVER, this is the only way I can access anything on Linux, otherwise, I simply have my desktop wallpaper and three programs that I had saved to my desktop (Home, Weathe...
