I had a similar problem after adding a second hard drive to a laptop without editing fstab. Same error, similar steps as above to fix.

Re: Nvidia Screen Saver freeze
I think I found the solution. I moved the computer to an area where I could access the internet, did a fresh install of LM7, connected to the internet, and used the restricted hardware driver app to download driver 96.*. So far, it seems to work. I'll leave it on overnight and see what happens. The ...

Re: Nvidia Screen Saver freeze

As a side note (I'm not sure how useful this is), the same thing happens on SuSE 10.3 with driver 180.* installed.

Re: Belkin wireless card
Do you have ndiswrapper installed? It should be under either preferences or administration in the main menu. If yes, then see if the windows driver is available online from the manufacturer (google is a wonderful thing). Then download it and open it from inside ndiswrapper and apply (restart may be ...

Nvidia Screen Saver freeze
Hi, I have just recently converted from Xubuntu to Mint, and I must say that I love it. The only problem I have is with my handed down Nvidia 6600 graphics card, or at least it appears to be. I started with LM 6, and, since this computer does not, cannot, and shall not have internet, I tried running...
