Re: Knapsu Plex Media Player Flatpak Won't Start
And the plot thickens, I went out for a couple of hours and when I clicked the start menu shortcut the program started perfectly. I closed it and it then it was back to the same issue.

Re: Knapsu Plex Media Player Flatpak Won't Start
Hi Rob, thanks for the reply. Yes, I tried that too, I should have mentioned it. Different results but still a fail. It would start but when I browsed to a library the frame stayed but the middle went grey and stayed that way. I wonder if it might be something in the BIOS or something specific to th...

Knapsu Plex Media Player Flatpak Won't Start
I'm in a bit over my head and hope you can help. I have done a fresh install of Mint Cinnamon 20.1 and installed Plex Media Player Flatpak from https://knapsu.eu/plex/, a program I have always found to be extremely reliable until now. The program installs and opens from the panel icon for the initia...

Re: Teamviewer Remote Session Freezes when Show Deskop Icon Clicked on Remote Machine
Have to agree there, it used to be rock solid but I've noticed it becoming less reliable.

Teamviewer Remote Session Freezes when Show Deskop Icon Clicked on Remote Machine
Hi folks, I've noticed a behaviour using TeamViewer 15.4.4445 and have managed to replicate it over 3 separate Linux Mint 19.3, 64bit, Cinnamon desktop computers. When remotely connected (on the same network at home), the session will freeze when the icon on the taskbar directly to the right of the ...

Re: Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
I have put everything back to how it was before we started our experiments.
is working fine. Should I still change the defaults as you suggest?
Code: Select all
speaker-test -t wav -c 6

Re: Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
Thanks for your efforts MrEen, much appreciated. Let me know if anything else pops into your head. I did notice one thing, the default sound card in AlsaMixer is a motherboard, built in Via card. The Audigy one I use (and which the system recognises as the one to use) is not listed as the default in...

Re: Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
Hi,
The only one I could see in MM state was Surround Phase Inversion, which when un-muted wouldn't let me adjust its level from zero. There was no sound from the rear speakers.
I cannot see a "Rear" channel at all, here's a screenshot:

Re: Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
Ok, so I removed the semicolon with mixed results: Stereo played stereo through the front L & R speakers, great. A 5.1 source played only through the front L & R, the LFE speaker and the centre speaker, i.e. the rear speakers were silent. I should also note that the rear speakers worked with...

Re: Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
Thank you for your messages.
MrEen, sadly the process you suggested didn't work although I can see the logic there.
Anyone got any other ideas?

Auto Switch between Stereo and 5.1 Surround Sound Depending on Source
I am running Mint 19.1 in a stock audio set up, except for the addition of Pavucontrol. My sound card is a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy model: SB0090. I take the analogue signals from the 3.5mm jacks to my various amps and speakers. Under Windows 7, without any configuration, the output for stereo ...
