Re: Cinnamon processes hog CPU, cinnamon --replace solves issue

Hey Mangalores, When you run 'top' in terminal, can you tell us the names of the processes that hog the CPU during the time you experience your problems? Also, after you used 'cinnamon --replace', does it keep running well until a reboot? Or when does it reappear? Thank you for your time and patienc...

Re: Closing Kaffeine causes Cinnamon to crash

Hi Mr. Jiggs, Sorry to hear about this. I can see how that gets annoying very quickly. Did you get a chance to run through the cinnamon log in your home directory? (its hidden by default, so make sure to view all files and folders in there when you go looking for it). It might reveal some pointers o...

Re: Windows follow the mouse with latency when dragged

Hi Ilasid, By what you told us, it almost feels as if you ran into the less pleasant performance of software rendering. But I'm confident it is not that. Though, I would not be surprised if it was driver related. Have you tried switching drivers in the Driver Manager? I would love to hear if this is...

Re: Grouped Windows List doesn't group windows

Hey there Kinark! Welcome to Linux. I'm pretty new to it too (4 years of desktop use besides 12 years of CLI) but I love it! I use this grouping feature a lot too. So far, *knocks on wood*, I have had no issues with it. Do you remember what significant changes, or if none, what minor changes you mad...

Re: [SOLVED] Update manager icon in systray broken [Mint 19.1, Cinnamon]

As promised, one last reply about the outcome: its all fixed now. The last thing I did was restarting Cinnamon. In my case by right clicking the menu bar > "Troubleshoot" > "Restart Cinnamon". All my open windows were still open afterwards. So no full restart needed and I was able to do it right dur...

Re: Update manager icon in systray broken [Mint 19.1, Cinnamon]

Hi, It could be that the icon theme you're using is incomplete. Try switching to Mint-X. Thank you! That did indeed fix it a bit: https://i.paste.pics/6df4e4421baf7fc4ff9c06b2915a542a.png https://paste.pics/6df4e4421baf7fc4ff9c06b2915a542a It has an icon. Its too small, like, I only see the upper l...

[SOLVED] Update manager icon in systray broken [Mint 19.1, Cinnamon]

Hello, Since I went from Mint 19.0 to Mint 19.1, the icon of the Update Manager is broken. It used to be in the systray. And it looks like it still reserved a spot there, there is an empty gap. But no actual icon. https://i.paste.pics/c50830e956902b4d98c3f9b22de8bd04.png Screenshot: https://paste.pi...

Desktop freezes very often [Mint 19.1, Cinnamon]

Hello, I've been using Mint since 18. Currently I'm on 19.1. I have always used the Cinnamon desktop. I have also always had a problem using it; the desktop freezes often, for 15-30 seconds at a time. So far I have narrowed it down to being: - Often triggered when there are file and/or folder change...
