Hello! I want to use rsync to do my home directory backup but I wish to exclude one directory as this is the destination directory which is going to a Nextcloud instance on my server. However the command line below while not getting any errors is still backing up the directory I wish to exclude sudo...

OBS alternative

Hello Everyone!

Can anyone recommend an alternative to using OBS to create video from desktop work for YouTube? I recall in a video somewhere the content creator mentioned an application he was using but the name escapes me.

Thank you!

Issues Creating PGP Keys

Hello, I am having an issue with creating pgp keys in seahorse. I have uninstalled and reinstalled on several occasions. Today I installed the flatpack version. When trying to create keys I get a "not found" error which as you can imagine tells me nothing. When I first installed Mint I was able to c...

Re: Install Linux Mint on a dell inspiron 7559

Thank you for the information! This will be a single boot. My son is following my lead and removing Microsoft from his life. I have hear that all newer Dell systems work well with Linux, but I did see a guy totally mess up and install. Mind you he was a newbie trying to install arch. So I decided be...

Install Linux Mint on a dell inspiron 7559

Hello everyone!

I am looking to install Mint on a dell inspiron 7559. Are there any concerns I need to have with this install? I have seen some negative reports online but that does not really mean anything. Best to ask those who would know.

Thank you for the help!

Re: Installing Tor Browser

The package from the Tor website failed. It was because of a pgp key error. I follow the link in the terminal error to the github site and the developers. I downloaded the keys from there and all was well after.

Re: Installing Tor Browser

I found the solution!

Here is it below

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:micahflee/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install torbrowser-launcher

Then
torbrowser-launcher

it downloads and installed without a hitch!

Resolved!

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Installing Tor Browser

That was what I did the first time, but it would not show or run. Then I did the following. This from this article https://computingforgeeks.com/installing-tor-browser-on-linux-mint-ubuntu/ cat <<EOF | sudo tee /etc/apt/sources.list.d/tor.list deb https://deb.torproject.org/torproject.org bionic mai...

Installing Tor Browser

Hello Everyone, I am new to Linux and recently installed Mint 19.1 cinnamon over my Windows 10. I just could not take Windows any longer. So far all has been well and really pretty seamless. The learning curve has been very enjoyable! My question is, and the only issue I have run into thus far is in...
