Re: What oses yall running?
UPDATE: I can't get SolusOS off of my computer fast enough. I couldn't find one thing impressiver about it. Installed twice, the first time it froze and choked during updates and wouldn't even boot afterwards. The second time, it updated fine but it took two tries to boot after installing nvidia dr...

Re: SolusOS 2 Alpha3 Released (Gnome 3.4)
It is not a fork...he is simply designing his own DE with gnome 3 technology i would love to understand the difference. it is not based upon gnome fallback but gnome classic a different wording for the same "beast" afaik. Whatever zero, I am not a developer so I don't know the difference....

Re: SolusOS 2 Alpha3 Released (Gnome 3.4)
It's usable but obviously doesn't receive tender loving care from Gnome as it is a soon deprecated fallback session for unsupported graphics cards. I feel SolusOS have taken a better approach patching the fallback than MATE porting Gnome 2, will be interesting to see how it develops. yes i agree it...

Re: SolusOS 2 Alpha3 Released (Gnome 3.4)
I'm running SolusOS 1 now and it is just a beautiful distro. I am seeing why so many choose debian over ubuntu based distros. I'm sure SolusOS 2 will be fantastic when released as well. Those guys do a nice job

Re: SolusOS Debian Stable for Everyone
Getting more and more curious to try this out. Is it possible to add Gnome Shell or Cinnamon to SolusOS in any not too brutal-hacky way or is it Gnome 2 only? Right now it is gnome 2 only but SolusOS 2 will be a custom design of gnome 3 fallback and will be based upon Wheezy. They really have done ...

@Monkeyboy,
I did a fresh install of the SolusOS 1.1 that was released today and it is simply outstanding. I believe it is definitely a keeper. Give it a look

Re: Why not only debian based releases.
@3fRI You may consider SolusOS which is based upon debian stable with up to date applications. The installer is very easy to follow and there is also an installer for video drivers. I absolutely love it so far :wink: Did the 64 bit release get released yet? Yes and it is excellent really! Runs like...

Re: SolusOS Debian Stable for Everyone
Some of you will like this post by Ikey at the SolusOS forums: Cinnamon is a Gnome Shell fork which will inevitably reduce Gnome + Mint compatibility in the future. MATE will also suffer a bad fate imo because its a Gnome Fork. We'll be using Gnome 3 classic mode with a lot of modifications. It wil...
