Re: MintBackup and Mint 19.3 upgrade to Mint 20
A clean install and the paid ($25) version of Aptik (https://teejeetech.in/2019/07/14/aptik-v19-07/) is often recommended for this situation.

No need for a separate app. Highlight the files you want to zip. Right-click-->Compress. Type desired name and choose desired compression type (zip is an option).

Re: connect iPhone
If your goal is to transfer files back and forth, you should be able to connect your phone to your computer via the USB cable that came with it and then "authorize" the computer when an authorization window comes up on the phone. The phone will then show up in the file manager as a storage...

Make sure to create the installer using the official Windows 10 Media Creation Tool (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softwar ... /windows10). I've found it more reliable than other methods, including Rufus.

Be sure to read Dedoimedo's Ultimate Guide to Linux for Windows Users:

Re: How to effectively introduce Linux (Mint) to potential users?
I run a little hobby business supporting local home computer users. In a few cases when their Vista or Windows 7 machines stopped receiving updates I have installed Mint and they've all been happy as clams with virtually no problems. When their OS is reaching EOL, my approach is to ask them if they ...

Then I'd connect the drive to a Windows machine (not dan...

Re: Min PC Spec for Decent Web Browsing
You shouldn't need to spend much to get a decent machine that will run Mint -- particularly with the xfce desktop, which is the lightest of the standard builds. Personally I've never had a problem installing Mint on any old Windows machine. So to save money, you can go with 4GB of RAM. Eight would b...

Re: Sharing External Drive with Linux and Windows
You'd want to be sure that a file and its backup exist not just in separate partitions but on different drives, to protect against drive failure. Given that, your setup should work.
