have you tried using realtime kernel form the repositories....
has worked for me with most of my studio requirements... not used rackkarak though...

I've also done the same... enable the text... I think the option of having a splash image should be left to the user... that is one of the reasons I am on this side of the fence... choice...
we have to find a solution to the plymouth#screen res problem, than to shove it under the carpet... :wink:

Gloria had a more complete mobile broadband provider info package Helena wasn't helpful at all in the above dept... I had to revert back to Gloria... I have installed mint KDE CE on a number of comps in my neighbourhood using a 4GB pen drive...
any external USB memory device should serve the purpose...
i use a USB starter disk creator (included in Ubuntu repository) to creat a boot disk from the downloaded image

i've been a KDE fan since beginning...my linux beginnings

do you have gnome / KDE / LXDE as your destop... you might not see in KDE as they are customizible widgets...
try to right click on the panel - add widget
browse the available widgets you should have the trash folder there...

you can also use 'gISOmount' program available in the software repositories... very intuitive interface... another option to run very specific programs in CD not compatible with wine use Virtual box... make a virtual machine running WinXP or earlier windows OS(licensed copy)... burn iso image of you...

you can run a disk partition utility under windows7 delete and reclaim the partition used used by linux i.e ext3/4 to ntfs. and start using the partition under windows.... but before that yuo have to claim the MBR(am assuming you are dual booting thourgh GRUB), just pop in the windows installation d...

i have been using bsnl ADSL modem, a EVDO from bsnl, and tata photon all seem to be working fine. right click on the network icon, goto edit connections, then to Mobile broad band. "add" in the mobile broadband, follow wizard:shows options for tata indicom, reliance, etc etc... configuring...

been using a BSNL EVDo mobile broadband with linx mint7 KDE CE...
worked fine with Gloria... after installing Helena, am getting "preparing the connection" caption... then failed network
tried on three computers with different configurations... no connection still....
any solutions....
