Re: Wi-Fi drops frequently throughout the day

It is switching between 2.4 and 5GHz on the router so see if you can set the BSSID in Network Manager to keep it on one or the other No luck. Now I have a different router and I am still experiencing what described in the first post. I cannot use the Wi-Fi for longer than a few minutes because it w...

Re: I can't add Google to Chromium's Search engines list

Have a look at the third answer in How to add custom search engine to Chrome from SuperUser. It claims that if you take the Site search > Add procedure one step further (choose to "Make default"), it will add the entry to the Search engines area. Thanks a lot, it worked! I am posting for ...

Re: I can't add Google to Chromium's Search engines list

Thx. I cannot edit URL with %s in place of query of existing items because it is greyed out as you can see in the attachment. But it is greyed out also in Chrome installed using the latest google-chrome-stable_current_amd64.deb so it isn't just a Chromium quirk. I doubt that editing just Search engi...

[Solved] I can't add Google to Chromium's Search engines list

I installed Chromium using Software Manager. There is no Add button to Search engines in this tab: chrome://settings/searchEngines. The instructions here https://www.linuxmint.com/searchengines/anse.php?sen=Google&c=y no longer work. I tried the button Add next to Site search but it adds items t...

Re: Keyboard does not auto-connect after Suspend or Restart

I have noticed something else. The keyboard goes to Auto Sleep Mode if idling for 10 minutes. When this happens I have to re-connect manually just like after Suspend or Restart. I followed the instructions here https://gist.github.com/andrebrait/961cefe730f4a2c41f57911e6195e444#disable-autosuspend-f...

Keyboard does not auto-connect after Suspend or Restart

I have installed today Linux Mint 21.2 and I don't remember having having had this issue with Mint 20.2 or if I had it I don't remember what I did to solve it. If I right-click on the keyboard of the attachment below then Auto-connect: is greyed out. I have found this solution: https://gist.github.c...

Re: Wi-Fi drops frequently throughout the day

Try the 5.15 kernel in Update Manager, View, Linux Kernels. Thx. I'll try this first. I don't think you have the same problem I did, but if you look down on my post I put a link into a great article for troubleshooting wifi dropping issues. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=396274 Hopefu...

Re: Accidentally logging out and closing all windows

Your system is your system, of course. Do you have a good reason to disable it? Do you want to use that combo for something else? Like has been mentioned, it's sort of an emergency out for when your system is having problems, like Ctrl-Alt-Del. Better to learn this key combo, rather than get rid of...

Re: WiFi connectivity issues

sleeper12 wrote: Thu Nov 25, 2021 12:34 am Perhaps, but I'm not sure. Is it any better now with power management off?
Hard to say.

It dropped again now and I had to toggle Wireless.

Earlier for instance when I was not able to connect at all I run that command and the situation did not change, at least not in the short term.

Thank you.

I didn't restart the router but now I can connect; next time I am going to try that.

Could this be a router issue?
