Re: PS/2 Keyboard not working after upgrading from Linux Mint 18.3 to linux 19.x

From your inxi report: Have you run the updates since the upgrade? If so, you should have the 4.15 series kernels available and you should change to the latest 4.15 series kernel. I always update, but since i've installed Mint 19.2 everytime i try to upgrade this error is showing: HP-Compaq-dc7700-...

Re: PS/2 Keyboard not working after upgrading from Linux Mint 18.3 to linux 19.x

Don't know of one. As mentioned before,PS/2 is mostly on motherboard chip, it's own sort of beast, and it either works or doesn't. It's not hot pluggable, and I don't even remember seeing it in the "dev" nor "blk" type devices. Are you precluded from using a USB keyboard? With PS/2 there's basicall...

Re: PS/2 Keyboard not working after upgrading from Linux Mint 18.3 to linux 19.x

PS/2 usually has hard wired chip on motherboards, and since the mouse is also working, either there is something wrong with the keyboard, or the port it's plugged into. It worked perfectly with Mint 18.3, immediately after rebooting to Mint 19 it stopped. I don't think that the port is broken, beca...

Try switching to 4.15 kernel or other, I had some issues with PS/2 mouse + keyboard on my game PC with 5.0.0.XX kernel, how I have usb so 5.0.0.XX works.

I hope this helps.
Regards, Lex
Thank you, as soon as i've resolved the update issue i will upgrade the kernel.

Re: PS/2 Keyboard not working after upgrading from Linux Mint 18.3 to linux 19.x

Please post an inxi -Fxz  report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and on how Mint  sees  it. Here is how to generate the report and post it: Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the command inxi -Fxzd ex...

PS/2 Keyboard not working after upgrading from Linux Mint 18.3 to linux 19.x

Hello everyone. Months ago I upgraded my old desktop pc from Mint 18.3 "Sylvia" to Mint 19 "Tara". On Sylvia my PS/2 keyboard worked fine, after the upgrade to Tara simply stopped working (while my PS/2 mouse still works). Neither the upgrades to Mint 19.1 first and 19.2 then resolved the issue. I s...
