[SOLVED] 19.3 and 5.0 Kernel

Hello, and sorry for the question, but I am pretty much still a newbie. I upgraded from 19.2 to 19.3 and all went very smoothly. I inadvertently installed the 5.0 kernel, as the update manager listed it. I then noted 5.0 was only supported until February 2020. I didn't like this, so I decided to ret...

Re: Mint and Windows 10 Pro

I installed the latest Radeon Vega drivers Maybe useful to know for others: how did you do that? https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-prorad-lin-18-20 Probably that way. Correct, that is where I went. And I am sorry. I should have been more helpful. The drivers I used are found here: ...

Re: Mint and Windows 10 Pro

Update. I finally got my second monitor installed. I had screen flicker that was driving me insane after I got the second monitor set up. But, I installed the latest Radeon Vega drivers and all is fixed. I'm settled now. This is my go-to office PC. I'm very happy, especially with LM 19.2 install.

Re: Who no longer uses Windows?

I have a dual boot (LM 19.2 and Win 10). I only have Win 10 due to some work apps that need it. If my work support would get on board.....no windows at all. haha.

Re: Mint and Windows 10 Pro

I did have to boot into a recovery mode when I first installed the distro in order to get the graphics to work. I did not have to tweak anything. Once the latest packages were installed it all worked great.

Mint and Windows 10 Pro

I built a new desktop for my home office. It is an AMD Ryzen 5 2400G with 16 GB memory. I installed two SSDs. One ADATA 240Gb. The other ADATA 500GB M.2 2280. I installed Windows 10 on the 240GB drive (because I will use it less) and Linux Mint 19.2, on the other SSD. It took a bit of patience, but ...

Hello from North East Oklahoma

Hello all, I am a first time Linux Mint user. I have used Unix in my job, from time to time, but decided to make the jump to a Linux Mint installation at home in the past few weeks. I am just barely past a newbie in my abilities due to my years with Unix in my job, but I am loving the experience so ...
