Re: Is this malware? Firefox related.
... I use this page quite a lot, and even until yesterday I'd never seen this. Hi Kunkle. I don't worry about it. I never used to get it either but as I'm looking at buying a new, to me, bike I've been using it a lot over the last month and, as with you, started getting asked if I'm human. I didn't...

Re: Why does my Mint have the "Ubuntu Pro Client"?
:) Thanks for trying to reassure me, but I still think it's cavalier to install stuff (especially that kind of stuff!) without at least giving the (l)user a choice. Hi Kurt. I appreciate what you're saying but we do have a choice. In Update Manager we can right click on any update and ignore it. ED...

For me it came through yesterday.
Please remember that it's an optional service, if you don't sign up for it, it just sits there and does nothing.- Thu Mar 14, 2024 8:21 am

Hi NathanShirley.NathanShirley wrote: ⤴Mon Mar 11, 2024 11:17 am ... I can't think of a reason for it to behave that way.
I can, it's designed that way.
When I press the super key I see the cursor in the search box, so it's expecting input from my keyboard and not my mouse.

Re: "Conflicting values set " error
Hi there! I'm running Mint 19.3 and I can't access update manager. I get this error E: Conflicting values set for option Signed-By regarding source https://dl.google.com/linux/chrome/deb/ stable: /usr/share/keyrings/google-chrome.gpg != E: The list of sources could not be read. I'm not really sure ...

Re: Firefox cannot be retrieved from the server today
To be honest, this grumbling is starting to annoy me. Especially because it is being used in a campaign against the agreement between Mozilla and Linux Mint. I'm wondering why none of the complainants favor the solution of increasing the technical resources of the main Mint repo servers so that the...

Hi vineyridge.
Also, Clem posted on the blog. https://blog.linuxmint.com/?p=3496
A bit of a guess here, but I think that as your Chip is a bit elderly (11/22/2007) it may be ‘exposed’ but the kernel etc have been patched.

Surely I am doing something obvious the wrong way, but I'm stumped... Hi fatbeard . Please check your Download History – are they there; did they they start but fail? Turn of any Extensions that could effect downloads. Try another Browser? If you use a VPN then turn it off. Although I’ve no idea ab...

Thanks dorset, that worked! I really appreciate it. I think I know what the problem was. I must have previously been a superuser because I never had any issues installing updates. But we recently moved and I haven't plugged this PC in week or so. It must have reverted somehow. Battery ran out? Hi T...

Do you mean that you need to type in the password? When you open update manager, if there are updates and you click to install them, it brings up a password box. Is that what you mean? No, after I type in the password the message in italics above pops up. This is the message I get: E: dpkg was inte...

Does anyone have experience of the Lenovo IdeaPad range? TIA, Tony Hi Tony. Mine’s 3 yrs old now and only 11th gen but using the Edge version of Mint it runs perfectly, but, I am a low level user. It seems quite tough as, when wrapped up in a towel, it survives in my rucksack while I'm riding my mo...
