Re: Some of tray icons are changing to a circle with a line on the center

Same here. The only one I've noticed so far is KeePassXC. The app itself I have set to autostart at boot for Master PW entry and it seems to hang for about 10-15 seconds while bringing the window up and another 20-30 after PW entry. When it finally minimizes, it's the circle/line icon. CTRL+ALT+ESC ...

v20 Cinnamon - Change icon in lower right?

How can I change the icon in the tray for Transmission?
Everything else seems to be following the theme and are white while Transmission is bright red.
It's driving me nuts.

PSA - 19.3 to 20 - Just Do A Fresh Install

I just got done wasting 5 hours trying to recover from the uncountable errors during and after upgrade from 19.3 to 20. Finally gave up and I'm now back on a clone of my 19.3 SSD. I know, it's a PITA recustomizing your system after months/years of doing so. It certain will be for me. (Starting fresh...

[SOLVED] 19.3 Quit Menu KB Shortcut Issue

Starting today, pressing CTRL+ALT+END on my desktop machine no longer brings up the quit menu (Menu > Quit) to select a power option. and immediately shuts the machine down instead. Nothing has been updated, and I've not changed any settings, about a week prior to this. (I use this feature multiple ...

Re: Grub refuses to use theme icon

Can anyone help me out? Either edit the theme.txt file to point to the correct image, or simply replace the theme's image with your own by copying your image over the top of the original using the original name. theme.txt doesn't point to the icons. Not even the original theme does this in theme.tx...

Grub refuses to use theme icon

This thread was marked as solved so I'll just open a new one. https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=308452 From that thread; I've done exactly this and grub still REFUSES to use my theme's linuxmint.png . Poly-Dark happens to be the theme I'm using too. It's only using gnu-linux.png . Th...

T460 + Mint 19.3 Cinnamon, Shutdown, reboot, power on issues.

Strange issue just started the other day. Selecting restart via Menu > Quit > Restart or CTRL+ALT+END or sudo reboot only makes the laptop shut down. Then, powering it back on by pressing the power button will cause the machine to light the button for just under a second and shut down. This happens ...

The "right thing to do" is post the exact command line that was used to add the PPA.
I did.

They were following the official instructions to install the WINE PPA to Mint Cinnamon 19.3.
As you can see in this image they got an error of:
Malformed input, repository not added.

[Cinnamon 19.3] Questions about mintsources error

I was trying to help someone on Reddit with the following issue earlier today. They were following the official instructions to install the WINE PPA to Mint Cinnamon 19.3. As you can see in this image they got an error of: Malformed input, repository not added. I suggested that they add the PPA via ...

Re: [SOLVED] Trying to understand APT Pinning

Hmm? You weren't supposed to name anything, Yes, I know. I was talking talking about before I even posted here and was trying to follow the How-To. IE; the How-To is confusing AF... those were two scripts I gave you to set everything up, and I had said to roll back your changes first. I know. Again...

Re: Trying to understand APT Pinning

Oh, I thought you had already done so for disco. Let's see, copy & paste this as a whole into a terminal window: I did but I wasn't getting anywhere because it kept complaining about APT::Default... . I ended up undoing all of that and downloading the packages in my OP and installing them "manually...

Re: Trying to understand APT Pinning

Nothing in your post is actually about pinning. Precisely my point. That Pinning How-To is all but useless, IMO. then add the Eoan repo instead because Disco is nearly end of life Where exactly? In /etc/apt/sources.list as, I think, is usual? (I can do this through the Software Sources > Additional...

[SOLVED] Trying to understand APT Pinning

I'm running Mint Tina (Bionic) and everything is up to date. I (was) desperately in need of libinput10 from Disco to get my touchpad working properly. This requires a few dependencies to also be upgraded from Disco also and breaks one or two others otherwise. To make a long story short, here's what ...

Systemd-Boot and RAID questions

I'm already running Linux Mint on my some of my laptops. I recently turned my wife over to Linux and she's running it on her laptop now as well. We have a quasi-HTPC running Windows 10. As Windows seems to be giving us more anxiety with each passing day, wifey suggested we just replace it with Mint....
