Re: [SOLVED] Driver support for Validity Fingerprint sensor device (138a:003f) VFS495

I'm trying to do this on a HP Envy 17, but the updated file recommended (https://whp-hou4.cold.extweb.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp84501-85000/sp84530.tar) is a .tar file, and when I convert it to .deb with alien, it refuses (rightly) to overwrite /etc/init.d/vcsFPServiceDaemon because it is also in packag...

Re: [SOLVED] Driver support for Validity Fingerprint sensor device (138a:003f) VFS495

Hi, Thank you for your query. Did you follow my 5th post from top in this thread? I followed every instructions explicitly. Re: How to allow multiple finger print for authentication using fprint_demo

Thank you for your reply. So it does not seem possible to use all fingerprints because they are not requested for authentication at the same time.. Well it doesn't have to be that way. It can always try to match the swiped fingerprint form its already enrolled fingerprint database. This way no matte...

Re: How to allow multiple finger print for authentication using fprint_demo

Thank you for your reply. I'm on Linux mint 19.2 cinnamon. What you are saying is not the case. The problem is, I've a very sweaty hand and my finger sweats a lot :( . That's why my FP reader sometimes has trouble identifying my FP even though I've enrolled it. My goal is to enroll same FP multiple ...

How to allow multiple finger print for authentication using fprint_demo

Hello, I have a finger print enabled laptop and relying on fprint_demo for finger print authentication. But for authentication it only asks for a selected finger to be swiped, (in this case it's left middle finger) https://i.ibb.co/tC1gMVq/Screenshot-fp.png though I've multiple finger print enrolled...

Hello, I'm running an old HP probook 440G1, which has fingerprint support. The device is Validity VFS495 (138a:003f).
