Hi All; I Found an article on How to make a GCC manually from Scratch for Linux Mint.. And I made it all of the way through successfully.. I copied down the versions, and what it has matches CrossLinux From Scratch 2.10.. So, I am going to try and build that and see if that works any better.. THANK ...

On first attempt, no it failed as well..
Next I will re-tar the files and use the original MPC MPFR and GMP versions, and see what happens..

Hi All; I THINK I Found the problem, GCC is still being built, so I can't say absolutely for sure, but so far it looks good !!! One, I edited the file that builds the MPFR, MPC and GMP files for building GCC, to a Later version.. MPFR from 2.4.2 to 3.1.4, MPC from a 0.8.1 to 1.0.3, and GMP from a 4....

Hi All;

It passed all of the Tests with memtest86, and after having a CD/DVD player go bad, I worked up to Linux Mint ver 8, before I got a Install to go all the way through..

So, I have Linux Mint ver 8 Installed on my Hard Drive on the 586, and it is Running on the 586..

I just changed Memory Sticks and now I have 524288 KB of memory, instead of 393216KB of Memory..

So, that should Help.. I still have to find a way to check the memory..

Where to download a memory checker that will run on this machine..
