I agree with the main points in this "rant". The thing is that most software in the repos / software manager are hopelessly outdated, which means in average 2 years old or older, containing bugs that have been removed in newer versions. Flatpak has the most recent version. Our package manager has - as usual - only the outdated version from some years ago. I use the Flatpak version without issue while 3.2.8 had several issues

I also prefer the look of Evolution but found it a bit buggy. Also, in the package manager there is only an outdated version and there does not seem to be an easy way to install the current version (or does anyone know?). Installing Waterfox and importing the old FF profile helped for me. The crashes drove me mad, so now I'll stick to Waterfox for a while

The solution for me: Installing the FF fork Waterfox https://www.waterfox.net/ It imported the profile and started up and everything seems to work :D So it seems to be a FF issue!
