Re: OS will not load- freezes at desktop

Do you have a different video card you could swap out? i had a separate video card but i have since removed it in case it was causing issues and i am now using the integrated ...

Re: OS will not load- freezes at desktop

Is this on a brand new install or was it working at one time and now doesn't? When the disk activity is showing, what happens when you do a CTL-ALT-F1? Does it work OK from the Live/Install cd? this is an install that was working recently until i began experiencing issues with the OS loading. i wil...

Re: cannot access linux mint shres from windows pc

You're using your Mint Username and password from Windows to access your Mint share? Is this correct? Did you create the corresponding samba password for that Mint username: For example, Let's say your Mint username is matt: Open Terminal Type sudo smbpasswd -a matt Type Some_User_Password (when pr...

Re: system sporadicaly crashes

Linux doesn't normally crash and being as you have had it on 3 different distros you obviously have a hardware problem. A freeze is usually caused by one of these, in the order listed below: 1) a faulty RAM stick 2) a faulty hard drive 3) overheating CPU 4) faulty power supply 5) faulty motherboard...
