Re: Adobe Flash Plugin Problem

Just as an aside, you do know that Adobe has deprecated Flash. It's not until the end of 2020 but it will happen. You should contact the site with the videos and let them know they should be using HTML5 for video. I am well aware of this and have on previous occasions have spoken to the site about ...

Re: Adobe Flash Plugin Problem

I'm not having much luck finding any Flash content. Must be for uploaded videos I'm guessing. When I enter the URL your screenshot showed, it redirected to https://rotaryswing.com/golf-swing-self-analysis. May not have anything to do with your issue, but throwing it out there. That is the link I am...

Re: Adobe Flash Plugin Problem

Hi muffybean. I'm thinking you're already set up to watch Flash content, you just need to enable it in Vivaldi. When you're at a site that requires it, click on the icon in front of the URL in the address bar and you'll probably see Flash Block. Click on Block to change it to Allow, then reload the...

Have you tried this https://help.vivaldi.com/article/install-flash-player-for-vivaldi/ Jon I accept what you say guys but my hands are somewhat tied at the moment as to be able to access videos on the golfing site I use I have to use Adobe Fl...

Select "Run this plugin"?
Yep I have done that a few times. I really hope to get this working in Vivaldi and can then work in it most of the time and dump Chrome, which I find too intrusive.

Re: How much memory should I give to VM?

About Virtualbox: For years I have installed Linux Mint MATE on my Macs under OSX/macOS and on those of friends (because of graphics - all Mac users...). Especially Mint MATE 17 was a great pleasure - very fast, very frugal and with a very good screen display. Up to and including Mint 17.3 - 2 GB R...

Re: Adobe Flash Plugin Problem

apt install flashplugin-installer Thank you for your advice GM; I did what you said here and when I re-opened my golfing link after re-booting I got this. Adobe Flash-greyed out..png As you can see the option is greyed out. When clicking on the lock in the address line it shows this Allowed -Flash....

Adobe Flash Plugin Problem

I am using Vivaldi in Linux MATE 19.2 and there are a couple of sites that still use Adobe Flash and for the videos to work properly I need the plugin. Using Vivaldi in Windows 10 stand alone machine it works fine. On this machine where I have Linux installed and Windows 10 as a VM the relevant site...

Re: What version of OracleVB?

Thank you both for your advice. Downloaded the lower version you pointed me to (DEb package) and installed fine. I picked up the image I had saved from my previous install and it loaded up fine. However, it did point out I needed to install Oracle_VM_VirtualBox_Extension_Pack-6.0.14-133895 which I d...

Re: How much memory should I give to VM?

to address the original question: - - on some of my PCs which all have 8Gb of memory, I've found that 3500MB for an 32bit VM will work well & that 5500MB for an 64bit VM will also work well. & that still leaves plenty of available memory, for the Host Machine. Thank you Pierre for your advice. As I...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mWHiP9K8fQ0&t=175s, which is a youTube by a guy called Chris Titus and he is a Linux advocate as like me believes that Microsoft are becoming too intrusive. He converted to Linux over a year ago and it was from watching his videos that I decided to try Linux. However,...

Re: How much memory should I give to VM?

Regarding Linux I am a beginner and cannot input much about that. Having made mistakes with my first attempt on my backup PC where first I started with a dual-boot, Windows 10 Pro and MATE 19.2 it was so so and prior to that Windows 10 running with 8gb RAM was ok. A few months ago I then came across...

Re: How much memory should I give to VM?

If 2GB was enough before for your Windows VM, it will still be fine. I think 2GB is considered a minimum for Win 10 and 4GB or more is recommended. It depends greatly on what you do in the VM. Same is true for Linux distros you might want to run in a VM, and whether you are going to have more than ...

How much memory should I give to VM?

I recently had to do clean install Linux Mint MATE on one of my machines. Prior to doing this I increased the memory from 8GB RAM to 12GB RAM. In the previous install I was running Windows 10 Pro allocating 2GB RAM to it in a VM. Should I change that now I have 12GB available instead of 8GB? Still o...

Re: FYI - "ksnip" really nice screen capture app with Imgur upload and built-in painter functions

FYI: You do not need to create a menu item or desktop launcher for invoking (triggering) ksnip as a screenshot tool, just create a new keyboard shortcut (or change an existing one) to the ksnip application or ksnip AppImage file. But, it does help to create a menu item if you want to right-click an...
