Re: RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
Thanks, Kelebek! My 5 GHz wifi is working again with full speed with your advice. After installing the package from your ppa repository I noticed a new update recommendation in the Update Manager: "rtl8821ce to version 5.5.2.1. 0ubuntu-18.04.1 - Dkms source for the realtek 8821c pcie wifi drive...

Re: RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
Latest update to linux-firmware 1.173.15 and rtl8821ce-dkms-driver killed the 5G connection of my wifi. The 2,4 GHz connection is still working. I can live with that, but I lost more than 50% of my earlier connection speed

Re: RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
I just noticed a new kernel update to version 4.15.0-72 in Update Manager. After some hesitation (bad experience earlier) I decided to run it. And now I'm happy to tell that my wifi is still working fine!

Re: RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
I just noticed a new update of rtl8821ce-dkms-driver in the Update Manager. And running it solved the problem, yippeee!
Now I'm wondering, should I skip all the kernel updates in the future?

I already ran all those commands in the same order as you advised and rebooted, but no help. I posted first back the result of last command because there seems to be a problem: ’command not found’.

Re: RTL8821CE 802.11ac PCIe Wireless Network Adapter
Sorry guys (JeremyB & kelebek333), following your recommendations did not help. Earlier the tip sent by kelebek333 (using ppa repository) fixed the problem and my wireless was fully working for several weeks. But then accepting the kernel update few days ago killed it again... which I regret now.

Kernel upgrade killed my wifi again yesterday. I repeated the commands of your tip with no help. My system is 19.1 Tessa. The wifi driver disappeared also at the listing of inxi -Fxz. More tips?
