Re: LMDE 4 stuck at installing drivers

I also had problems with 2 systems with Nvidia grivers... the same kind of problems you had.

but it installed correctly on a system with an intel driver.

I never tried again to install the other two... Maybe later ;-)

Strange Driver update

Today I had this problem found by the driver manager... Mint 19.3 At first, it tried to install a new driver for this card as an update , it couldn’t do it, then gave me this warning. But the wifi works well, and it keeps showing me this windows when I do a check... For a brand new Mint Box 2 Pro, i...

Re: Mint Driver Manager

Well, I agree with you...

I have problems with the Wifi card not detected (I think...) And as I tried to compare with the Mint installation that has no Wifi problems I realized that LMDE had no driver manager to help me...

Re: Dual boot Mint and LMDE

I would like to add a few things to my question. Yesterday, when I restarted my system, it started LMDE. But today, it started Mint... I checked and found that the volume (partition) for LMDE was not mounted. I had time to search a lot on the net about boot managers and all (again...) before going t...

Dual boot Mint and LMDE

I have Mint installed on my Mac and have no more OSX on it. It works perfectly well. Now, today I installed LMDE beside Mint to be able to use both. Btw, I had to use the Calamares installer to be able to do it because the normal installer was too confusing about how to prepare a new partition. With...

Re: Tricia much slower than Tina

At first I upgraded to 19.3 by clicking on the update manager when it became available and had to update many packages after that.
But my system got slower. And in the end I did a fresh upgrade from the iso and that fixed it. It became fast again, maybe more.
Maybe that you could have the same problem

Re: [Solved] Burning important data what software and any more advice?

I just wanted to second the use of Verbatim M disks for archives.
When I switched to Linux I needed an external dvd burner and bought the Verbatim.
I use Brasero and it works very well.

Re: Mint 19.1 no sound through hdmi on tv

I’m watching Netflix right now with Linux Mint on my new MintBox and have no sound problems. In the Audio menu, I can select between the the 3 options detected on startup, including the bluetooth headphones I use. So I would agree about your hardware not being detected by Linux Mint. Make sure that ...

MintBox Mini 2 Pro (MBM2 Pro) Feedback

After a few days spent on my new MintBox I must say that it is a great mini pc to use with Linux Mint. Being new to Linux Mint I had to search and learn how to do a few things, but I am still surprised today how things went well. I still need to add a few more apps to be able to use it as my main sy...

Re: [Solved] Mini computers for Large Screens TV

I am still waiting for it but I went myself the Mint Box 2 Pro way.

I am already using Linux Mint on an old PC to learn how to work with it while waiting for the Mini Box.

I’m curious to know what you will choose and see the results...

Re: New one from Canada...

I spent some time looking on the web for Multi-platforms software and just take note of them for now. And as I am still waiting for my Linux Mint mini box, I can’t use Software Manager to look for software for now, but I read the tutorial section of this board which is quite good. I think I’ll know ...

Re: Best way to install a new app

Thanks...

I just realized my mistake...

In my head I was reading that I could use one or the other... when in fact rpm is for the other types of Linux like Red Hat, etc...

Linux Mint is indeed based on Ubuntu and doesn’t use rpm.

My mind is on vacation...

[SOLVED] Best way to install a new app

Hi, I have a newbie question about installing a new app in Linux Mint. Back when I experimented with Linux a long time ago, I think I always used rpm for the installation. But I was wondering what difference it makes with Linux Mint. For example, I have this app that I would like to install, Enpass....

New one from Canada...

Hi guys, Back to Linux after switching from Windows to OSX and IOS. I used Linux mostly for fun many years ago, but now Linux Mint seems to be mature enough for me to try as a real operating system now. I am waiting for a mini PC with Linux Mint already installed on it that I ordered after trying Li...

Re: Did you expect that you'll use Linux?!

Absolutely... I started playing with many distributions and versions of Linux while I was still working in computers and electronics, and we were using Unix on some of the equipment we had. Knowing Linux helped me debug some Unix system sometimes ;-) I always liked to use the command line in both Wi...
