always center window on start

I'm running Mint 20.1 XFCE

I'd like the windows to always start in center of the screen. Is there a way to accomplish this setting?

Thunar seems to start in center of screen though, but the terminal (xfce4-terminal) always starts in top-left corner

Re: there are annoying paths in terminal

Try replacing the command with: source /opt/Xilinx/14.7/ISE_DS/settings64.sh &>/dev/null The "&>/dev/null" thingy redirects all output so that it isn't printed. is &>/dev/null a combination of both 1> and 2> ? 1>/dev/null 2>/devnull or, what is the function of & ? Or is th...

Re: watermark pdf and images

Is stamp.png in the same directory as the python file and is it a png? Try to see if it runs with the original parameters or a other formats (jpeg). Yes, and the script works fine if I have: image_rectangle = fitz.Rect(0, 0, 100, 30) but it doesn't work with: image_rectangle = fitz.Rect(450,20,550,...

.... Excellent! Thank you! I tried to put the barcode to the top-right corner like you described: image_rectangle = fitz.Rect(450,20,550,120) but I'm getting errors: Traceback (most recent call last): File "./stamp.py", line 12, in <module> page.insertImage(rect, filename="stamp.png&...

Re: kernel 5.10 not LTS?

5.10 will become LTS when 5.11 is stable instead of mainline. Ok, I see ! Another curious question - 5.10 was released 2020-12-13 and EOL is Dec, 2022. That means a lifespan of 2years. 5.4 lifespan 6 years. (2019 to 2025) 4.19 lifespan is also 6 years. (2018 to 2024) Howcome the 5.10 LTS only got a...

kernel 5.10 not LTS?

So, I've read many times that 5.10 was to be an LTS kernel.
But on kernel.org it's just an regular "stable" kernel, not an LTS kernel.

Or, did they skip making 5.10 LTS and instead aiming to make 5.11 LTS ?

Just curious :)

Re: watermark pdf and images

I've done some experimenting. I found that imagemagick with the convert -command was very bad, atleast regarding pdf: When I inserted a text-only "watermark" inside a pdf (every page) the pdf grew from 4,1MB to 88MB. Luckily I found another program called pdfstamp that could handle this mu...

Re: watermark pdf and images

I would use Imagemagick convert tool. Here is a bash script to insert a watermark and serial number to JPGs that should help to get you started. This is not my script - I shamelessly lifted it a long time ago and I did not note the author at the time. You can change the appearance and position of t...

watermark pdf and images

Is there a way to add a watermark on pdf and images? Lets say that I have 10.000 pdf's that would need: a) a textbased watermark with a serial number. b) or an image-based watermark, but the image itself would need to be copied 10.000 times with an different serialnumber each time, and finally each ...
