I am using Windows 10
That possibly might be a problem also.
If you hibernate Win10, it can cause hog certain resources. Ensure Win10 is shutdown and see if the problem persists.
I don't dual boot, Linux and Windows are on 2 separate Desktops.

Go into Terminal,
Copy/paste the following which will give us anonymised info about your hardware:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
What you'll see will not fix anything, Shutdown worked fine when I first installed 19.3, I forgot my pass code so I had to re-install 19.3 and now this.

Hi, i tried to install Windows 10 in dual boot just to see if it was a hardware problem or a software problem and everything works fine in windows with the desktop extended over all three screens.... anyone got any idea of what to do?
Stay with Windows 10 then, no more issues.

You've been on the forum for several months.
You should at least know by now to post more details and at the very least the output to the following if you want help.

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
I'm a noob at this. What the heck is inxi-Fxz

Still no proper Shutdown

After a month Cinnamon 19.3 will not shutdown properly. When I first installed 19.3 it shutdown normally with-in like 10 seconds. I couldn't find my original topic on this matter. They gave me ideas on how to do it, nothing worked. So I did this, installed 19.2 did those updates, then installed 19.3...

Hello, CygXanadu. Thank you for trying to capture the output of "journalctl -b -1 -r". :) Sadly, I have to tell you that 57 lines are not sufficient. :( Telling from my own systems, I can tell state that systemd writes between 200 and 300 lines, + between the time where it says, systemd-logind[799]...

I have to manually power it off ( hold the power button).
That's a great way to damage your file system. What happens if you open a terminal and enter the following command:

Code: Select all

shutdown -Ph now
That just ends up doing what it was doing when I choose to shutdown.

Please fix the shutdown issue, it was present with 19.2, now 19.3 has it. It was working fine the first time I installed 19.3 and used a Mirror from the USA to do the first updates that Mirror must have had the shutdown fix, now that Mirror is no longer available. Need some help! Linux Mint 19.3 software

I recently installed Linux mint 19.3, I had no issues with file transfer using Nitroshare since the update Linux no longer shows up on my Netwoek and I cannot transfer any files. When I start both sides Windows says Linux has joined the server after about 30 seconds it automatically disconnects from...
